Do flavors need to steep? I'm not talking about mixed juice, that I know, I mean the flavoring themselves before mixing.

I have some FW van custard concentrate and it seems off to me. The coloring , smell and taste are nothing to the juices I've had.

Does this stuff need to steep or mature before I use it? It is just the faintest yellow color and not an orangish color at all like steeped juice.

Thanks.

No, commonly what you buy is what you get, ready to use. Any possible need to steep would be resolved with time in the end mix.

Now, if combining flavors for use, a warm bath before mixing in the pg/vg might accelerate flavor mating. Still will need time to blend fully in final mix.

New to DIY?
Custards need a week or more to blend and achieve full flavor. Bavarian cream is also one for steep time. Orange color is more like from the Nic and light/air exposure.

Yes, new to the custard flavoring. I was told that the FW VC needs to sit about three weeks to fully mature. Prob is, that the batch is already over a month old when I received from FW. Just can't see how another three weeks will matter? I have had it a week with cap off and it has not darkened at all. Thanks for the reply. :)
