Hi all, firstly great forum! I've been lurking a bit and I've learned quite a lot from just browsing.

On to the subject at hand, I recently bought an e cig (brand name "smokepass") that uses a cartomizer. After the battery wore out, I dissected the cigarette and found that the cartomizer was little more than what appears to be a polyester wick wrapped in an electrical heating element. During use, the element evidently burned the polyester! I'm no doctor but I'd bet money this is not so healthy.

I post for two reasons: one, to raise awareness of this issue and hopefully to warn others away from this brand or cartomizers in general, and two, to ask if there are heating methods that do not pose this problem and which models might use those methods.

Thanks so much in advance!

Next to the eGo-T tank system, cartomizers are my favorite way to ecig. If you keep using the cartomizer after it has gone dry it will burn the fiber. I will always refill after I notice less smoke output or get just a hint of burnt flavor.

Yes, plus.. not to sound morose, but I was killing myself smoking 4000+ toxic chemicals and carcinogens for the last 25 years - what's a little burned poly.

what's a little burned poly.

A bad vape.

Check out my review here of Ikenvape's new Gold 510 drip cartos. This is miles apart from the random junk cartos I started out vaping. I think the wire must be protected because it is some sort of cool-looking blue color. I have very little concern of these burning up and I don't think there has been any reports of such.

I'm very hard on bad suppliers and products, so wouldn't make a glowing review of a product unless I mean it. If you want cartos, I can't imagine anything better out there right now. The only possible problem is the price point because of included drip tips on each one. IKV will be offering them without them soon though I think.
