The condensation is normal...and its unavoidable. That goes for ALL atties where the cart inserts. No reason for alarm there.
As far as melting-
Look into your atty...you'll see a small white box in the very bottom. Thats the cup. The steel mesh looking thing is the bridge, and its arched the other direction, and the feathery looking stuff you can barely see poking out underneith it is the wick.
The cup is rectangle, and the same size and shape of the end of that cartidge you put into the atty.
Now, the coil, (the heating element) is inside that white box(cup) and runs longways, almost perfectly centered inside that cup.
The purpose is- The bridge holds the wick, and holds that wick directly parallel above the coil. Usually though, the wicks are tucked in, and somewhat exposes the coil to the plastic cart, instead of covering it, and preventing direct heat to the cartridge.
The white cup, and the box shape of the end of the cartridge should match up perfectly, stacked on top of each other.
If your cart is turned to make a cross across the top, the edges are sitting directly above that coil, and on a 510, that coil can get HOT....Therefore, THATS why you see those half moons burned into the cartridge.
Your a heavy hitter, or consistant. That coil is getting pretty hot. (That part is common).
Just be sure your cartridge is lined up right, and you wont burn it anymore.
Feel free to also dissect a dead atty, so you get a better feel of how they are built, and work.
If you need anymore info on your 510- Im a pro, so feel free to send a private message, and I can try to tutorial you any info you might need to tweek your 510 into perfection. I still use them to this day.
