Use a decent charger (no I can't define that but someone else may). They have no memory that I know of and normal use and charging is all that is needed.

The question that's more interesting is "how not to degrade it?". And that is 1) Don't over-charge it (the charger should handle this) 2) Don't over drain it (more frequent charging is better than not within reason). Don't over heat it. These types of batteries don't like heat. I even have some Li-Ion power packs that say "don't use/charge over XX degrees F". These are not e-cig batts though.

So I avoid putting them in the hot sun in a car window, for example.

Charging = heat. Heat = bad. However, my nice (slow) charger doesn't heat em up much. That's a good thing. They all degrade over time and build internal crystals or something.

Best guesses and :2c:

Thanks for the input. So is the charger that I got from Provape with my mini any good? Or should I be investing in something better? Do the batts come with charge and need to be completely drained before I charge them or should I completely charge them before I use them? Thanks in advance for any more input.

I was just wondering what is the best way to condition my batteries to get the best performance and most life out of them. Specifically AW IMR 18350 if it matters. Just got my provari mini in. Yay!

Not much else to say. I thik Atty sumed it up Pretty Well.

How do you like your Provari Mini? Did you get the Blue LED?

Well, unfortunately I haven't actually got to play with it yet. I work out in the oilfields in California. When I'm at work, I live at work and don't get to go home for two weeks at a time. But my wife told me that it is in and I will be going home in the morning. So I will get to play with it then. I got the satin black mini with blue LED.

Actually in my understanding the batteries 'do' have a memory, in as much as you could call it that. Just like your cell battery, to have it maintain it's charge the best it should be put through 4-5 complete charge/discharge cycles before you just toss it on a charger whenever it's convenient. With all the posts of people's batts dying in a few weeks or months, if people don't condition them to accept and hold a charge well, it's not surprising they have such a short lifespan. I had a Nimh battery in a drill that lasted four years. Friend of mine's phone battery died in a few months because it was simply placed back into it's charging cradle at the end of each call.

Not many companies will tell you that, since batts are after-sale consumables they make money on (eg0 etc). Ever wonder why ego type batteries cost 2-3x as much as batteries with twice the capacity? It's not because it costs that much to make them vs a replaceable battery ;)
