I feel like crap but I've been dual using for months. I smoke and vape 0nic using a velocity. Has anyone quit using 3mg and dripping? Is 3mg on a rda enough and can I over do it. I'm at about 13 cigarettes a day and really wanna quit. But I guess the thing that's holding me back is afraid of over doing it on an rda, I've tried tanks and others but the rda is what I enjoy the most. Not asking to be bashed. I'm just looking to stop this week. I guess I'm the type of person who needs all the info before hand.

I'm Not sure 3mg/ml is Enough or Not for you to Quit? Because I Didn't quit using an RDA. And an Individual can need More or Less than the Average Person.

If I was going to Quit with an RDA, I would buy both 3mg/ml, 6mg/ml and 9mg/ml.

Use the 3mg/ml for Daily Vaping.
Use the 6mg/ml for Stressful Situations.
Use the 9mg/ml for when the Cravings come Crashing In.

You can Do It. The First Week might be a Little Rocky. But you can Make It.

There are no rules for transitioning from smoking to vaping. Some can quit right away, while others duel use for a while. I duel used for months before I felt comfortable enough to not light up. Whatever works for you. There is no judgment here, or bashing. You can do it, but it will be at your pace. Hang in there.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna tackle this asap. I have a bunch of 3mg already so should be good even if I gotta chain vape..lol. I just didn't know if some ppl take 3 pulls or more to satisfy cravings

Just Me:

But when I quit, I couldn't always Beat Down the Cravings by just Chain Vaping. I needed to have some Higher Nicotine in a separate Carto. And when things got Bad, and that voice in my head said... "F It. I'm just going to Smoke 1 Cigarette", I could take a Few Hits off the High Nicotine and the Craving would pass.

I called it my "Break Glass in case of Emergency Carto". LOL.

An RDA is Perfect for doing this. Because you can just Drip a Few Drops of High Nicotine whenever you need it. And the Rest of the Time, just Drip your Regular e-Liquid.

It's difficult to advise how much is too much etc if you dual use.
What is doing what to what? 6mg/ subohm may be too much if you dual use, yet not enough if you Quit.
If you are feeling like crap, quit. Before you do, aquire an array of nico strengths. The first days are a bit much,,it's not like Cold Turkey..

The more I vaped instead of smoking the worse cigarettes tasted. I dual used for about a month until I found a setup and some juice that worked for me. I needed that throat hit you get from smoking. That comes mostly from the nicotine, but really was secondary. I needed to feel like I was smoking.

I started vaping at 18mg and have not had a cigarette since then. That has been almost three years ago. I went down to 12mg nic a few months later, then down to 6 and then 3. I have been at 3 for over a year and I have not had any cigarette cravings at all.

I smoked cigarettes for over 40 years and averaged 1-1.5 packs a day and tried to quit countless numbers of times. I never used a patch but I did go on wellbutrin for a while but it did not work for me. The only thing that has worked is vaping.

Hang in there, I am sure it will work for you too.

I just wanted to share a little bit of my experience. Hopefully someone will find it even remotely useful.
I had zero luck quitting smoking when I started vaping the first time, everywhere I went wanted to sell my all the fancy subohm stuff and it just wasnt doing it for me, ended up triple using for months until I quit vaping altogether, I would occasionally chew...eww.
I've had one cigarette in the past month after my battery died and am still fighting cravings on a semi regular basis.
My daily vape is a nautilus with 12 mg juice. I actually had one of the worst cravings today since I quit smoking. I just chain vaped the heck out of it until it subsided. I was nervous after a few puffs because it wasn't going away, then I remembered that the nicotine takes longer to have an effect versus smoking, and after 5 minutes I was pretty much alright, and more satisfied that I hadn't smoked.

I don't like to chain vape when I'm at home, since I can't keep the windows open now that it's cold. So I use my RDA, .2ohm build with 6mg liquid, take a few good rips by the backdoor, and then I feel pretty satisfied for a few hours as if I had just smoked a cigarette.

Camel snus hits pretty dang hard. I tried to use it to quit smoking before I picked vaping back up. I would usually have 2 in until I could go smoke though >. < on more then one occasion I found my head spinning, ready to keel over from the nicotine overload.
However, i bet you could be pretty successful using snus for your nicotine. And 0mg ejuice to replicate the habit of smoking.
I've also had less cravings when I used tobacco flavors.
Nothing has worked for me though as well as the tight draw of a nautilus with the throat hit of 18mg juice.

Moral of the story is, you have to experiment to figure out what works best for you. Hang in there, and don't get discouraged. Even if you can only get down to 5 smokes a day you'll still be much better off.

RDAs are what I use most of the time but the type of atty you use makes no difference in determining nic strength, how it's set up (the build) does. How you inhale can also make a difference, typically mouth to lung requires a higher nic strength, direct lung - lower. At just a half pack a day you're a light smoker but in order to quit smoking you'll need an adequate amount of nic in your juice. How much nic depends on your setup (ohms/power), vaping habits (how often you'll be vaping) and how you inhale. If you're at home and can vape freely throughout the day you'll need less nic in your juice, conversely, if you're at work or out and about where you can't vape freely, you'll need a higher nic strength for brief/infrequent vaping sessions. 3mg juice might be fine if you can vape freely and are using a sub-ohm build (direct to lung) but for a high ohm/low power setup (mouth to lung/tootle-puffing) you might have better luck with 6 or 9mg, perhaps even higher if you can't vape freely throughout the day. If you're getting too much nic you'll start feeling a little dizzy/woozy, nothing to worry about just cut back from there. If you're not getting enough your cravings for a cigarette won't subside, a major reason some people dual use or return to smoking (relapse) IMO.

    "If I'm awake and breathing, I'm vaping." - My Dad, 6 mg/ml.

If there was a lot of risk with "overdoing it" at least in the short term on the nic we'd know about it around here by now. Worse that ever happens is I get a little dizzy, sometimes that leads to a nap that was needed anyways. Whatever works for YOU! Personally I'm 3.5 years away from quitting on 18 mg/ml but I'm still chain sub ohm vaping on 9mg/ml most of the day.

Dual using for me did not help at all with quitting completely. I was just kidding myself that I was cutting down but was just increasing the amount of nicotine I was actually getting all day. The only thing that worked for me was quitting cold turkey and toughing it out. I even asked my nearest neighbor not to give me a cigarette in case I asked for one! I started with high nicotine at 18 to 24 MG and some 36 at times. Kept some 6 MG around to slowly lower the percentage until I made it to 6MG and not long after I went to the 3MG I am at now. As others said above you need to do what works for you and you will know what that is.

I sincerely doubt anyone is going to bash you. I know plenty of people who were doing both including both of my roommates, the trouble is, once you're used to that habit it's hard to break it...

If you're only vaping a pack a day, you'll probably be fine with 9mg, I've gotten a few freinds off cigs (only when they ask for help I don't push it on them) and usually the thing that works best when they're used to doing both is to go a day or so cold turkey and then switch to vaping 24hrs later.
