Hi, I'm new here. (Obviously) :) I was a pack a day smoker for about 30 years. About 2 weeks ago I tried a Logic disposable. It was ok, I haven't had a real cig in over 2 weeks now, but I have spent quite a bit on disposables. Every review I see for kits claims to be the best and number 1 product, so I have no idea which one is good. I saw an advertisement for Volt on here so I jumped on it and placed my order, I just have to mail a check. I'm wondering if I jumped in too quick. Vapor is real important to me. I prefer a size similar to a real cigarette. Am I making the right choice going with the Volt pro kit?

I appreciate the advice. I do need to order a kit soon though, as these disposables are costing me a small fortune.

I was like like you. Bought 3 different ecigs. Till I found the provari by provape. It is what they call a variable mod. Does not look like a cig but wow what a device. When I figured out what I spent a month on analogs was worth it. All I ever use. My other ecigs are sitting in my draw. Check out the reviews on utube. Good luck. Going on my sixth week analog free. Good luck

**** Oops. Note to self: read more slowly. I saw that you bought a "Logic", and skipped over an important point; you have bought a Volt. No problem; I'm going to buy a Volt myself, because they are WAYYY cool, and very well made and perform very nicely. The PCC alone is worth the price of admission; super slick. You have done well so far. ****

Hi Miss Bella, and welcome to ECF.

You say you would prefer an ecig that resembles a cigarette, but I have to ask if that's an absolute "must" for you, or would you consider something slightly larger that will give you a much better vaping experience?

To whom it may concern:

Yes, I'm referring to the Joyetech eGo Twist, fitted with exactly what Grimm Green is using in his review of it:

THE EGO TWIST IS A GAME CHANGER - YouTube Grimm Green Twist Game changer

Interesting .... I just re-read what I recently posted in another thread:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...aying-hi-looking-pointed-right-direction.html

.... and it occurs to me that I might have misspoken.

"Far too much deference is given on this site to beginners who very often don't really know what they want. They might think they know what they want, but it is impossible for them to have reasons that are as valid as they might think they are. They don't know what more experienced people know. They just don't. How could they? Why would they? It's OK that people don't know everything about everything. It would be a very odd state of affairs if they did.

That said, one place where we have to defer to a beginner's preferences is in "form factor". They do know what size and shape they want, and if they want a ciggie look-alike, then I will recommend a Volt. But I might very well also offer a long-term strategy; get a Volt, and if you end up wanting more battery life, vaping time, convenience, vapor production, or variable voltage, then get one of about five variable voltage devices, and one or more of maybe a half-dozen different attachments. And some great juice. Lots of it.

This is really not all that complicated. It's really pretty simple. And I think to keep it as simple as possible, I think it would be nice if we could all get "on the same page" as much as possible, and among the contents of that page is (IMO) that variable voltage will give you a better overall vape, under a wider range of conditions, than constant voltage. I simply do not see how a valid argument to the contrary can possibly be made".

But do you really "know" what "form factor" you want? Do you know enough about the trade-offs involved with going with a look-alike to make an informed decision about "form factor"? Would you consider something less ciggie-looking if it gave you a far better vape?

OP: This post -

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...7252-am-i-missing-somthing-2.html#post6435964

- contains all of the information you would need to make a very, very good choice (IMNSHO*)for a starting point in (variable voltage) vaping, provided you don't absolutely need to start with something that resembles a cigarette. If you do, I'd advise you to limit your research to exactly which model of Volt to get, and in what color.

Yes, a bit overwhelming to say the least. lol.
While at the tobacco store the lady sold me a couple of hookah flavored disposables, I thought since I was a smoker, I would need the tobacco flavor to be satisfied and still feel like I was smoking. I guess I will be experimenting with the different flavors now. Ugh, my boyfriend is gonna want to choke me. haha. I can see this being as expensive as real cigarettes.

You can also buy a Personal Charging Case for those batteries, if you are worried about battery life. The wife swears by one.

People always want to comment about battery life to newbies, buy if you are doing fine on a disposable right now, you obviously don't need to go out and buy something that will hold a charge for 3 days right off the bat.

It can be as expensive at the start. Soon, you will find what works for you and save. You will feel better soon, no price tag can go on health!

Actually, it can seem more expensive in the beginning, because there are so many devices and juices that you will want to try. Once you find the device you like, and a juice or three (or a dozen) that keep you happy, it becomes a lot less expensive than analogs - which is what we call those stinky cancer causing things we all used to smoke. Which brings up another point: How much is your health worth? Lowering your risk of cancer and lung disease, less susceptible to colds and flu, having your food taste better, having whiter teeth and fresher breath, cleaner clothes, drapes, carpet, etc.... The list goes on. Don't beat yourself up, don't stress, you found this forum and this is your support group. You've taken a huge step in the right direction.

Think of it this way: if you spend $250 dollars at first, and then only spend 50 cents a day (or less) after that, how long will it take before you are saving money? If you smoked a pack a day, it's around 2 months. Then you can put your savings in a piggy bank, and save up to buy more vaping toys. You'll find that a lot of this group becomes as addicted to the toys as they are to the nicotine...but it's a lot more fun and social than forking out cash for something that you burn up and harm yourself with.

I looked at the video, love the amount of vapor, the design is cool. Gonna look into a total cost now.

Are you referring to the Grimm Green video? If so, I'm watching it right now, and the Twist is not presently $36; it can now be had for $19. The post I linked to spells out the cost of what you would need to start out with; about $85.

Also, I would mentor you at no charge if you want, and buy everything from you for what you paid for it if you don't like it (unlikely IMO).

Welcome and congratulations on a good purchase. I'm loving my Volt. I have two manual batteries and they seem to last me quite a while. I haven't hit the end of a battery yet. That is definitely attributed to me having a slightly different vaping habit than most. I will pick up my Volt, take a few drags and put it down for 15 minutes or even more. Later in the evenings, clouds of vapor will be billowing out of my office though :)

I mean this as perfectly respectful to anyone that posts advice (inlcuding me) - don't worry about if you made the right purchase. I'm not insinuating that money grows on trees, but here is what I think. You wanted something roughly the size of an analog. Thats what you have purchased. Now as you vape, you may find you want a clearomizer, or a larger battery or a variable voltage ... you get the idea. The thing is you got started. Now, as you are enjoying your vaping, you can keep reading, seeing what people think about various devices and slowly grow in to it. Kind of a crawl before you can walk deal.

When you get your Volt, start having fun with it. Try some flavors - there is supposed to be a July 4 sale, but i didn't get an email about it if someone else would be so kind as to post about it. I'm seeing this as a bit of a hobby than a quit smoking journey right now.

Good luck to you and keep posting. The people on this forum are really, really great people.

Right on the money...I started with gas station ecigs, moved to a KGO, bought a couple of Stardusts, bought some tanks, bought a lavatube, tried different cartomizers, etc etc etc. At every step I learned more about what I like, and learned more about all the various products available, an better ways to use the things I already have. It's a journey and a hobby all rolled into one, and you can definitely have a lot of fun along the way.
