so I have been looking at these voltage charts and they recommend to vape between so and so volts however I like a longer hit, cooler vape, and less of a throat hit. the problem is when I vape inbetween those ranges I get maybe 1 out of the 3 and that is a cool vape. I am wondering am I simply vaping incorrectly and should strictly follow those charts or is their major leeway to fool around with the temps/volts?

I am running a joyetech evic vt 60w with a aspir triton tank holding I think it is 0.04ohm coil was vaping at around 15.50watts but I believe the charts recommended a strong wattage/voltage which I find way too harsh for me given im running a 6mg nic juice. throat hit usually isn't that bad but maybe after a hit or 2 I get a huge headache.

way running an ego one with a 1.0 ohm coil same situation basically lower then recommended voltage according to charts as I felt I enjoyed vaping in that range but when cranking it up to the chart recommendations it was pretty harsh.

should I run it on the chart settings and simply take shorter hits ( I typically take long hits ) or is it safe to keep it at the settings I am running it at without any major problems? any help with voltage recommendations would be helpful as well. I find a lot of charts have different recommendations not all the same but somewhere similar/close.

What charts are you using?
The charts used to be good when we were all using high resistance wire (32AWG + ), but they do not take into consideration the variety of coil builds and wire gauges we use today.

You are better off going back to basics and seeing what works for you, rather than relying on a chart that is probably outdated.
Just start with low wattage (10W or something) and take a vape, if it is too cool or too little vapour then bump it up a Watt and try again. Do this until you reach your 'sweet spot'.
Obviously you might want to have a little break before you try your next increment as you don't want to OD on nic.

With the thicker wire (probably used in the 0.4ohm coil) there is a ramp up time where the coil is getting up to temperature, but the coil retains heat more than thinner coils, so if you chain vape then the 2nd vape will feel hotter than the first despite them being the same duration etc.

For 1) That 0.04ohm on the Triton and Evic VT, doubt the Evic would fire that being below the 0.05ohm Temp Control Threshold of its programming, so did you mean 0.4ohm?? Evic VT firing specs - Temp Control with Nickel Ni200 0.05ohm to 1.0ohm (Ni200 and Ti1), straight wattage mode 0.15ohm to 3.5ohms (kanthal), anything over 0.3ohm Ni200 will bump into VW mode automatically, anything over 0.45ohm with Ti1 will bump up into VW mode automatically.
For 2) If you like a cooler vape, everything is subjective, adjust the output to your desired level, all the charts are just guidlines, some fall under those charts, some far over. Start low power, take a couple puffs, still not right bump it up a couple notches, try and that level, still not right bump it couple more notches, repeat this until you reach a sweet spot, if you get a burned, charred, or harsh hit, back it down a couple notches at a time until those go away, ending result, sweet spot of the device limitations.

From my days of using cig-a-likes and Egos with a Clearomizer, you don't have to take it all in one pull, most devices have a 10-15second firing cut off, what I do with my regulated mods and tanks anymore, take a 5second slow pull, let off the firing button as I inhale, then take a second slow drag of 5 seconds, inhale, then exhale through my nose, this is a mouth to lung technique. When on my Sub-tanks and drippers, straight to lung inhale the massive airflow being pulled in keeps things cooler, which the Triton is actually designed for, the gauge of wire used stays hotter longer than thinner wire like in a Nautilus coil, so after a couple chain vapes, and you are mouth to lung hitting it, oh yeah, that bad boy will be a warm vape as the coil gets hotter and hotter from heat retention. The Ego One tank is a bit more suited for Mouth to Lung, the Triton if you can't find coil heads that are 1.2 or higher in Ohm rating, then your two options are 1) get the RBA rebuildable section for it and learn to build your own coils for it, or 2) get Nickel or Titanium TC heads for it, set the Evic into Ni200 or Ti1 mode, set your Temp Ceiling to 300F to 400F and adjust from there, the TC system will output max wattage initially but once Temp Ceiling is reached it will ramp down to maintain that Temp, not continue firing.

yea i meant 0.4 ohms, im not sure im looking at many different charts on google all giving different voltages but close to each other. i was reading something about if you don't vape in those ranges your battery could explode o_O not sure if that info was even accurate lol wasn't on here was some random vaping ad thing on how to start vaping.

I'm a tootle puffer who likes a cool, mellow vape.

First off, you're using a cloud chaser setup and trying to get tootle puffer results. I also have an eVic VT 60W, and I have used both the .4 and .2 coils in the provided eGo One Mega Tank.

If you're not familiar with at least these two equations--E=I x R and W=E x I, don't worry about the voltage. Set the power/wattage to your desired vape level, and let the mod set the voltage. I like it between 11-13W. Even then, it's a bit too warm, but it won't produce much vapor below 11W.

Cool, mellow hits? I get it all the time. Max VG, thinned out with a little water. eGo style battery at 3.7V. Tootle tank, I like the Smok trophy tank, 2.2ohm coils. That gives you 6.2W of nice cool vape with very little throat hit, and more than enough vapor as long as you're not trying to impress anybody. You'll also go through a lot less ejuice.
