    If you set both voltage and wattage on the MVP are you truly doing both, or is it either/or according to ohms law?

    It's either/or.

    Sounds backward I know, but:

    When you adjust the voltage on a VV device, the wattage changes to give you the desired voltage.
    When you adjust the wattage on a VW device, the voltage changes to give you the desired wattage.

    I have found a couple charts to figure out how many volts you can use compared to the ohms of your coil, inside the chart where the color blocks are ,is that the safe power settings? And across the top Is the safe voltage settings correct ?

    Just set your Mod at the Watt(Power) level you like and forget about it if you use average Ohm coil builds. I build my coils around 1.5 to 2 Ohms. My Mod is set at 8 Watts and takes care of the voltage itself.:vapor:

    What I can't figure out is how people are successfully using higher wattage or voltage when vaping. For example, someone cranking it up to 10 watts with a 1.8 ohm coil. Is it even safe to do that?

    Factory made coils would be hard pressed to vape over 10 watts without getting a burnt taste, But a home made coil like the one below will vape at 20-30 watts without it burning.

    The chart was a good starting point but it seems that the coil can only heat as much or little juice as the tank and wick can provide. Too much power with too little juice equals burnt, dry hits. I still have a lot to learn!



    That's about the size of it. It all depends on 1) how quickly you can get juice to the coil and 2) how much airflow you have.

    Making your own micro-coil and wicking it with cotton like the one above will give a much improved performance and better taste as it tastes cleaner. This is very popular in the UK with people who have been vaping for a few months or more and just replaces the coil in the kanger or other branded heads

    That chart is for factory replacement coils heads and it holds pretty true. It doesn't pertain to rebuildable style RBA (tanks) and RDA (drippers).

    In my Kayfun's I run 1.3-1.5 ohm coils at 13 watts. I'm able to do this because of the design of the tank a the huge wick. The large wick can keep up with the power being put to it where the very small wick on say a kanger tank can not. I could theoretically go up to 25+ watts and still not burn my juice but I don't like it up that high. Very warm vape and too strong of a throat hit.

    Exactly! I'm currently running a 1.4Ω coil in an Erlkonigin at 12.5w (4.18v) and it is perfect, for me anyway.
