Okay, so, I want a mechanical mod. Preferably one I can use a tank on. I'm a hair stylist and don't like how box mods feel in my hands. I've used a box mod and a tube style mech mod and like the tube style better. My budget is set at 125, but everyone seems to be trying to talk me out of a tube style. Why?

I just want what feels comfortable to me.

Not sure how well a mech and a tank would go together, depending on how much power you need you could always get a VV tube style mod, but I think most only go up to ~11-15 watts

I'm new to vaping, so I'm not looking to chase clouds and all that, I just want something functional that isn't too complicated. I don't want to build coils or anything but I want a tube style for sure. I'm still just confused on what I want I guess. I've used a herakles tank on a tube style mod before but I'm not sure what model it was.

So considering you are a new vaper I highly recommend a regulated mod as opposed to a mech mod. A mech mod is for very experienced vapers and if used wrong can have dire consequences. You still have the option to use a tube style mod, but in a much safer way. At your price point you can get a good deal on a used Provari 2.5 or a Provari mini 2.5..Even some of the new Provari P3's can be had for under 100.00. Check out Provapes and see what they have. The difference between the 2.5 and the P3 for the most part is the 2.5 maxes out at 15 watts and the P3 goes to 20 watts. I have 4 Provari's and they are very reliable and user friendly. You can use just about any type of tank with them as well. Hope this helps

Is there anything other than the provari?

Yes, you can check out Sigelei, Volcano, Vamo (these don't seem to last long) evic and others I can't think of at the moment. These will all go over 20 watts as well. I used a couple of these in the past and didn't hace good luck with them and that's why I chose the Provari.

I have used a sigelei before and liked it but I am not really sure what I really want. My budget is kind of small to start out but since I've used mods before I don't want to start smaller like with a cheaper starter kit where I'll go through batteries super easy. I've been doing my research on the different types of mods and voltage/watts/ohms that come with each type of mod. I'm just kind of hesitant on using a mod that has temp control and setting the voltage and whatnot because I am inexperianced. I don't want to sound super smart like I know what I'm doing because obviously, I don't. I think going to a vape shop tomorrow is going to surely help me out even more in better understanding what will make the best mod for me. You guys are great! Do you have any other advice?

That s a good idea to check out a vape shop. You might want to stick with a variable wattage or a variable voltage device at first to to keep things easier. Temp control might complicate things until you have the rest down. Whichever mod you choose, buy good authentic batteries. Like samsung 25r, sony vtc4, aw's but not efest, trustfire or any others with the word fire in the name. @Baditude and @Mooch have excellent blogs on battery safety and ohms law.

Damned great man! Keep it up! Congrats and welcome to ecf!
:toast: Cheers bruh!
But I would not recommend a mech mod, go with the subox. The Kangertech Subox.

+1 for tube style regulated. Mechs are simpler in construction, but much more complex in safe usage.
Ideas above are all good - I'd lean away from the ijust, for the same reason as I'd lean away from aspire cf - for the same or nearly the same money, in the same aesthetic/form factor, why not have the ability to adjust your power settings? But that's just me ;)

There's nothing wrong with using a tube mod. If that's what you feel comfortable with by all means go for it. I too have a Provari. You needn't get one, but you won't regret it if you do. They're US make and built like a tank. I understand with all the mods out there it is confusing and if you ask 10 people which to buy you may get 10 different answers. Looks like you're doing the research the next step is aiming and pulling the trigger.

As others have said, I would steer clear of mechs till you're more confident. Also, you don't have to use high voltage/wattage, even if you get 30W mod. That's the beauty of the vaping world today. There's something for everyone's taste. Not like when I first started 3 years ago.

The most important thing is staying off the cigs. Good luck.
