Hey everyone.
I bought a Kanger Sobvod mega tc last week and had some confusion as to which coils to use in tc mode and which one not to use. I think the NI Blue ring are supposed to be used in tc mode, I think. The only problem is both of the atomizers/coils came with a red oring. Did kanger change al of the rings to red?..very confusing. So I got a magnifying glass out and found that one of the coils said ss and the other ni... I'm assuming the ni is the nickle..But why the red oring? can anyone help me with this. I don't think it's a mistake because I bought one for my best friend and both of hers came with red orings with one saying ss and the other ni. I've Googled my ... off and can't find anything saying the nickle comes with the red ring.. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks & peace Out

I thought the TC coils were supposed to have blue rings, too, but I suppose they could have changed it for some reason. What's the resistance of the one labeled "Ni"? The Ni200 SSOCC coils should be about 0.15 ohm. Can you post a picture(s) of the coils? I don't know if it could help, but it sure wouldn't hurt.

The Ni is 0.15.... I've heard it's dangerous to use the nickel in the standard side and I'm afraid to use the wrong one and blow myself up. lol I'm not sure what happens if I use the wrong one. I've went to the kanger website and it shows the nickel always being blue. I've even talked to people on YouTube who smoke the subvod mega tc and they tell me the nickel is always blue and the ss is always pink. Kinda crazy kanger would switch it like that if it were dangerous and not tell anyone. Here's what I got off the kanger website about the red seals '

NAME OF COIL -- NiCr

WIRE MATERIAL -- Nichrome

COLOR OF SEALS -- Red

AVAILABLE RESISTANCE -- 0.15, 0.5, 1.2, 1.5

WRITING ON COIL -- NC

MODE -- Wattage

My coil that has an SS (should be NC) has an 0.5ohm 15w - 60w with a red seal which should be pink
My coil that has an Ni is an 0.15ohm 15w - 50w and also has a red seal which should be blue
I can't take photos but I just looked and that is what they say exactly.

Gosh, all very confusing.
Something has gone very wrong.

I agree an SS coil should be Pink and a Ni coil should be Blue.
I've never seen NiCr written on anything by Kanger although we know they routinely use NiCr instead of Kanthal.
The main confusion (caused by them) is calling anything SSOCC. That just meant a SS housing and OCC wick.
As for 'NC' I don't know what to think. Never heard of it until tonight.
You either have some new (and even more confusing coils) or I'm afraid the other option is less pleasant...
I really can't see Kanger just doing this.... sorry, it's most concerning.

The NC designation is for the nichrome wire used.

It comes with
1 x TOPTANK Mini 4ml
1 x SUBVOD Mega TC battery
1 x SSOCC 0.15ohm coil(pre-installed)
1 x SSOCC 0.5ohm coil
1 x Micro USB cable
1 x Manual

Could it be the OP got a knock-off or clone kit?
She could check the authenticity code from the box on Kangers websiteCheers

The NC designation is for the newer "notch coils" not made from wire but from a sheet of SS I believe.

How do I check the authenticity? I would love to do this. Thank you.

On the box by the serial number there is a scratch off area.

Go to the Kanger website and enter the number in the box.

tesa connect'n'check

If yours is a clone it will let you know.

PS. edited my first post. Cheers.
crap. Mine is not authentic. That's why all the wrong codes on the coils. Thank you so much. Now i know.

This should help but it does not include the Ceramic SSOCC's which If I remember correctly are grey. Nicrhome are the red gaskets and should be used in power mode.

Hope this helps clear the confusion!

Thank you. This is perfect. I'll save this so I don't have any questions in the future.

I bought it on ebay. I'm reading the fineprint right now to see if it gives a disclaimer about not being authentic. thank you again.
If the listing says "authentic" then you are able to return it (or open a case if you need to). If you bought it thinking it was authentic and it doesn't say in the listing that it is or isn't is also misleading as far as I am concerned.

You're very welcome! Also at kangertech.com, if you look in the upper right of the screen and click TIPS>SPECIFICATIONS and then COILS, there is a complete list for you right there.

Contrary to so many stories I've read, I've had great luck with Kanger coils and Tanks. Let us know how it goes for you!
