Connecting resistance wire to non resistance wire?

I purchased a smoktech vivitank and the resistance heating wire they used is crimped with non resistance wire. I want to know who is using this kind of method. To the people using both kinds of wire, what is your method for joining the wires together? If you use the the actual splice to connect them, where do you get such a small one? Is ace the place?

I go to walmart and in the craft's section they have these little beads for connecting jewelry and just crimp the two wires together with a needle nose pliers .I use them all the time .

I found on this forum a link to a "knot", actually an electrician's "splice". This splice was a special way to wrap your wires together, and it looked like a real good fisherman's knot. I cannot find this link again, please does anyone know the names of electrician splices and maybe the link that I'm talking about. remember it looks like a fisherman knot. I can't find the link and it somewhere here on ecf.
