Im interested in a Oddy type of rba that uses both Resistance and Non Resistance wire for the coil. My question is....Does it matter what gauge non resistance wire I use with the resistance wire? I have 100 feet of 30 gauge Nickel wire coming from TemCo that I planned on using with 32 gauge or whatever, Resistance wire. Does the size of the Non Res matter? Would it be ok to make a coil from 30 / 30g, Res / Non Res wire? The only logical thing I could think that would matter by using a larger gauge Non Resistance wire would be that a larger wire like 28 or 30 gauge wouldn't be as soft or easy to twist with the Resistance wire to make the joint.
