Connection issues

Hi again all,

I've been off ecf a while.

I have a reo grand here and I really love it. I'm having a problem though. It seems the button isn't always making good contact.

Sometimes it works just fine. I get a nice thick cloud. Other times it's very wispy and feels like the battery isn't really pushing the atty.

I'm using an RM2. It's normally microcoiled at between 1.25 and 1.4 ohms. Using rolled cotton wicks as seen in the now famous super x video.

If i retract the door and spin the battery a bit, I will get good contact again but only for a few drags. I'm using the recommended AW button top batteries.

Anyone have this issue before? Can you tell me what is going on and what i might be able to do to fix it?

Have you filed and Noalox'd the pin recently? Sounds to me like that's the culprit.

File the contact pin. And apply noalox to the tip and battery top. You are getting an arc. If you look at the top of the battery you will see little black marks. Lightly sand or file those away.

I'd say FM is right or it could be a loose screw on the coil. Clean and file the firing pin and Noalox it, make sure your screws are tight. I've found a spot of Noalox on the tip of the battery is even better.

I had the EXACT same issue the other day and I filed the firing pin, added a bit of Noalox to the pin as well as the button top of the battery and BAM!!! (it worked again on each fire)
