ya, i'd settled on the kr8. it is just a matter of getting good cartomizers and good batteries which use a vacuum switch. the shipping cost from health cabin is high, but i can get all the hardware from them that i want. i'm just waiting for the black auto batts. i plan on getting the stainless auto, black auto, and manual stainless pass. i'll get the stainless and black cartomizers too. i'll probably label the caps with a black marker to designate flavor and recap them when done to refill them. i'll put tobacco in stainless and other flavors in black. i really do like tobacco, but being able to smoke pina colada, whiskey, cola, coffee, and black tea is attractive -- maybe i can cut down on the amount of liquids i drink too. i'm looking at ordering liquid from tasty vapor though the selection is a little limited. i'm guessing i don't want to have liquid shipped from china. rather buy american made liquids. i could also probably do my own liquids, but i'll use the already made stuff so i can get an idea of what to expect when i start doing it myself.

Yep!! henry ya juts may find out that as you get into Vaping that it has a tendancy to dry ya out and thus an increase in er liquid intake. It helps to intake plenty of liquids!!

Henry, didja miss this advice, buddy? Hope you got your liquids in!

(Seriously, sorry you got me chuckling, and sorry you are currently in the "sin bin", but you gotta mellow out just a touch.. You're a bit OCD on the overthinking things..)

almost forgot to add:
(I am not affiliated with any e-cig company... I present no "mis-information", only common sense)

Hi Henry --

I'm pretty new (vaping for about 6 days now) but I lurked here and read for most of the month of February. I, too, wanted to be absolutely sure I bought the exact right equipment for ME. Now that I'm nearly a week into this (and very happy) I realize the truth of what I read many times here: you might just need to jump in and try before you know what will work for you. Now I know that the 510 satisfies my "tinkerer" side (for its potential mods), plus is pretty great, if inconsistent, but I've recently ordered a different model for the side of me that wants convenience. Yes, it has a cartomizer, and yes (apparently) refills are possible!

My advice-- as a fellow newbie to all this-- is to jump in with your best guess, and tinker from there. On day four of this journey I was astonished to find my desire to smoke analogs just GONE. Of course YMMV, but go ahead and jump on in! :)

Cheers!
Thanks for the advice... I am jumping in also. I just ordered my starter kit (Joye 510) and can hardly wait til it gets here. I have been an analog smoker x 30 yrs, so this will be a VERY new experience for me. But as you said, jump in and see where it's going to take me.

Lizziebith is right...I just started vaping 4 days ago and my sage advice is this: You are going to love it. You are going to wish you bought more than you did. You are going to end up buying something totally different in about a month (if you can hold out that long). I understand that you want to get something you can deal with easily straight out of the gate, and that you don't want to spend a fortune on it. I felt the same way too, I kept thinking, "boy, if this isn't all its cracked up to be then I just blew 90 bucks!", "If its not super-easy then I know I won't be able to stick with it". Well, I got the 510 and a whole bunch of different tobacco flavored juices to try. The 510 involves a lot of tinkering and the battery must be changed constantly...but its still worth it. The juices are alright and I'm still looking for a flavor I will love...but its still worth it. I'm going to have to buy a lot more vaping gadgets and juice in very short order...but its still worth it! Now, I'm not a rich person by any stretch of the imagination (unemployed temporarily), but I know that once I find my perfect blend of PV and juice that I'm going to save a ton over the price of analogs and probably save my life in the process. The initial investment is costly, but in the long run you'll be really pleased that you did it anyway.
