Consistency of e-liquid

When I was first told about vaping and e-liquid, I was told that the liquid should have the consistency of about olive oil. Now, using the ejuice-Me-Up calculator, I have made a couple flavors. However, my liquids turn out extremely thick. Is this really normal, or am I missing something on how to and/or what to use to thin my homemade ejuice?

You don't tell us, what mixture of PG/VG you're using. Usually, VG makes the juice "thicker".

You don't give your PG/VG ratios so I can't address the problem specifically but, generally speaking, if your juice is too thick, try adding just a drop or two of distilled water right into the juice in your clearo. Whoever told you juice should look like olive oil is sooooo wrong. That's the worst consistency for good wicking and avoidance of dry hits. Your juice should be closer to PG or water consistency for good wicking on most devices.

50/50 VG/PG (which I was told was the most common sold) with pure PG base flavoring with no nicotine.
