Been vaping for a month now but I am constantly reaching for cigarettes that aren't there. Then a lightbulb goes off in my head telling me that I don't smoke anymore and that I need to reach for my Egos. I'm also constantly opening my desk drawer and grabbing my lighters.

When will this stop? Driving me a little bat..... :-x

There's a solution to all of this -- more e-cigs/ego's/mods! +1 for having one in every place you once had cigarettes/lighters.

It will get easier and pass I have been smoke free 8 weeks and for the first month I was constantly sticking things in my mouth like I had a cigarette in my hand let me just tell you Gel ink tastes like S*&^ period. I tossed my lighter in a dresser in the bedroom its a personalized Trench lighter From WWII I got when I graduated Sniper training for the Marine corp. And I'm not ready to toss it out probably never will. That has been my only lighter since 1991 and it still works great. It will get easier trust me, Congratulations on giving up those analogs

I did this sooooo much at the beginning! Invis-a-cigarettes! The cheapest kind! I'd feel like a fool when I'd go to grab my pack on my desk or even worse, driving in the car was hard to get rid of that feeling. I looooved red lights because I could vape a little and relax.

But I can promise you with almost 100% certainty that it will pass. It takes time, but you will switch and suddenly you will be telling yourself, "Where's that bottle of Booberry Creamed Pie or White Rabbit?" - But it won't be as intense anymore. :)

Stay strong! You can do it!

Well, long time habits die hard. :)

Eventually, it fades. But I still, once in while, get the funny feeling I need to check to see if I put my cig out. And only times I left my mod in another room. Like I think I left the mod "burning". Weird little moments. :)

Ever have those tiny hesitations when you're leaving the house and think you forgot something only to realize you're thinking you didn't check to make sure you didn't leave a cig burning and have to remind yourself you haven't even had so much as an ashtray in the house for months?

Funny! I've also done this. Really felt silly, too, even though no one knew but me.:D

You all make it sound like I got off easy. I am still early on in my quitting, but I haven't had any of these issues. I still had a half carton of cigarettes when my EVOD showed up in the mail. I continued to smoke very occasionally, but never really had an issue. I continued to carry a pack of cigarettes and a lighter in my pocket for a couple of weeks, never even reaching for them. My EVOD is always in my shirt pocket, ready to go. I have been completely tobacco free for 5 days now. I still have 2 packs of cigarettes sitting in the carton.

I think part of this transition for me is the fact that I can vape at my desk and other places where I normally couldn't smoke. This has allowed me to change my habits completely. 26 years of building a habit was gone in a few days. I have been able to perform tasks (driving for hours) without even thinking of a cigarette. Vaping is one of the best things to ever happen to me. From a pack and a half per day down to nothing is astonishing to me. I still want a cigarette first thing in the morning, but that craving ends within a couple of minutes and a few hits of my EVOD.

Gets much easier, granted I've never tried to light my mod......SERIOUSLY????.....ok moving forward. 20 years pack a day and I agree with the being able to vape in areas I wasn't able to smoke thus creating new habits. Been at this 41 days now and not an analog since I picked up my first starter kit.

During my first few weeks of vaping, I don't know how many times I when into my pocket for a smoke or lighter before I became acclimated to vaping.
Old habits are hard to break. The first day after quitting, I woke up, I grabbed a cig and lighter and marched to the little room and was smoking before I said to myself "Hey Dummy You Quit Remember".
