I need some ideas for new contests. I am so tired of the usual random number generator. I have a couple of things that I want to give out for a contest winner but no new ideas for contests. Post your ideas here and then we will do a poll to see what you all are more interested in doing. After all, you guys make PIF what it is!

Trivia Questions. Give them a certain amount of time to answer the 3 questions and the first one to respond gets the goodies. :) Here's an example:

Lets try one of the most popular tv shows ever-M*A*S*H

Charles Emerson Winchester III was from what prominent city?

Captain Benjamin Pierce is better known by what nickname?

What was the name of Colonel Potter's horse?

Hiya folks,

Im brand spanking new here so thought I would submit a contest idea.

Pick a phrase--a long one then have people guess the letters by filling it in via quick reply. The first person to correctly submit the phrase wins.

You give hints like Wheel of Fortune
IE: 8 word phrase--on vaping

ans: The janty ego really strokes my fragile ego.

so the first post would look like:

(_ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _)
(_ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _)
(_ _ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _)

Next post would look like:

(T _ _) (_ _ _ T _) (_ _ _)
(_ _ _ _ _ _) (_ T _ _ _ _ _) (_ _)
(_ _ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _)

Each word would be enclosed in parenthesis for ease of use. see what I mean?

anyways, just one idea.

good luck

random debates: (would require either multiple threads or everyone remembering to put re: (their debate title) ine title part for each reply) - meant to be a long contest

contestants get paired by the # of their entry you select a random topic for debate - the member w/ the lowest post count in the pair chooses to be for or against
then they debate it out. rules would be:
1)you can't reiterate yourself - there is no revivable point, however you CAN refer to that point by post number w/ how it correlates w/ the new spin
2) 1 post 1 counter - you cannot divide your points up and just try to bury u'r opponent in posts - the debate is stuck waiting on the slowest participant
3) no filibustering - while your opponent does have to wait for u'r rebuttal, you only have (set time) to make that rebuttal, if you fail to you lose the debate.

debate continues until no new points can be made by 1 contestant or the other - or 1 contestant concedes.

winners of debates go against the winner of the next pairing in the tree, until there is 1 left standing to get the prize.

great ideas!! (welcome darkling!)

I love the guess the member idea.. tho with some of the newer members, the old timers would have an unfair advantage.

DC.. I can't follow you! ;) you win! :D

How about a juice contest? Peeps could submit a juice to Blaze for review! (yes, I was just reading that thread) They could be numbered, to keep it fair, and he could pick the winner. (there are some REALLY good cooks in our group!)

The Countdown Contest:

The Mod Picks a number say between 1 - 100.

The First Poster starts at 100. Then each additional poster counts down...

When the count reaches 1, the Moderator reveals the secret number(s) and who ever posted that number wins.

+1 to this idea :)

- Gladiatorial battles?

*unsheathes sword* Bring it on!!!!!!!! :)

Somehow I knew I'd make it into this thread LOL ;)

I'd be down for this idea, provided that I wasn't the only "taste tester", as tastes are extremely subjective (altho I have to say I've not gotten a DIY from this group I haven't liked yet :)). If Jules doesn't use this, I very may well at some point in the future.....consider the idea stolen LOL :D

3 Ideas for contests

1. Everyone puts in something(s) (ie. juice, batts, atomizers, cartos, etc...) and then the moderator pulls one item out each hour or so, for 2-4 hours a day. Each item gets 1 clue attached to it and the member who gets most or all of the right answers (guesses the item) gets the whole kit and kaboodle.

2. Put a bunch of random things in a bag and all members get to guess how many things and what those things are, in the bag and the member that guesses correctly gets the bag.

3. A like Jeopardy contest....answers are given in form of a question. Each question doesn't have to be about electronic vaping, but questions that most people would know without googling it, first.
a. Say the first round questions are worth 5 points each (alot of questions),
b. the next round is worth 10 points each (3/4 as many as the 1st round),
c. the 3rd round is all about a few questions all worth 25 points and
d. the final round is 1 or 2 questions and worth 50 points each.
e. The member with the most points wins.
f. If there is a tie then the final question would be the tie breaker, then only those in the tie answer the tie breaker questions.
g. totals would be added at the end of each round for those participating.
h. Questions would get harder as the game goes on.
i. there is 2 minutes between questions so everyone can get their answers in.
j. prize goes to the person with the most points at the end of the final question, people decide how many points they want "bid" for the final question, less likely to have a tie that way.
