I tried to post this in the Contests section, but I wasn't allowed to, so I'll put it here.

Just like for example lotteries winners, ECF winners fall in a deep black hole once the initial thrill of having won has passed. The sensation is over, the press has left the building, and you have to cope with being an average Joe again. And from my own experience I know how they feel. I won a 50 dollar gift certificate from madvapes. So I was looking on the madvapes site to see what I could order. But then it dawned on me: since I'm in Europe, even ordering an empty envelope from the US would cost me something like 60 dollars S&H. And I guess I'm not alone. Suppose you are one of the lucky people that has won an eGo. But you already have ten of those! Even worse, now you have these greedy family members that say you could easily give one to them, since you're now rich and all.

So, that's what this thread all about. Helping those unlucky prize winners to cope with all the negative consequences that come with winning a prize.

Remember, you're not alone in this one. And to the non winners I would like to say: it could happen to you too! Think about it.

Feel lucky you won something. Since it would be expensive to have anything shipped to you overseas, you could try and sell the gift certificate in the classifieds for face value or maybe a tad less, but explain why so it sounds legit. If you have paypal, you could do the sale for that and have you money in an instant

I guess that "European sensibility" escapes them... LMAO!!

But you DID receive quite an Honorable Award, even without the gift cert... (just be sure to read the fine print!!)

Two of these were submitted by jtpjc, whose European sensibility and use of pantomime may not have been fully appreciated by a primarily American voting audience.

And, as you may or may not know, jtpjc is also the vaping in the shower man – the funniest 24 seconds in vaping video history!

For both the subtlety and the hilarity, jtpjc receives the ECF/VG Academy’s:

MadVape Lifetime Achievement Award!

A $50 Gift Certificate to MadVapes’ menagerie of unique vaping products. [Psst, jtpjc: Among MadVapes various offerings is the Leo, which you (and I) obviously love.]

I won the 900 riva kit from vaporflow, which I was going to give as a gift since I have 2 ego's and 2 inferno's in my house already. However they were up for swapping it for the (cheaper) Leo starting kit.

So I am patiently waiting for the mailman now as I have been wanting to have a Leo to put through the paces for awhile.
Oh happy days.

As the 8th Place winner, I shall be making a gift of my winnings, as I do with most of the prizes I have won here on the ECF... kisses.gif except for the eGo that I recently won, because I have always wanted one!!

I could have had my pick of anything on the site then, but I chose the 650mAh kit... because of it's smaller size, and also because I didn't want to take advantage of such a generous offer... angelic.gif

Now if I could only win a stinking MOD, I could stop entering all of these contests!!! busta.jpg LMAO!!!
