So after crawling the internet(mostly these forums) for a few days trying to figure out what I want to buy, I've decided what I want to get to start me out in the "vaping world".
I'm starting out with the Joye Ego from cignot and am going to go ahead and order 5 10 ml bottles of liquid from another supplier(litecig).
I would like my initial investment to last me a good 2 weeks or so, and am wondering if there's anything else I should purchase to meet that demand(cartridges, atomizer, etc).

Also, while looking for extras of the above, I noticed that there are "cartridges" and "cartomizers" for the 510/Ego. I've done a bit of reading but I haven't ran across what the difference between the two are? Sorry if this is a dumb question that's in a sticky somewhere, I just honestly didn't read it anywhere yet.

I have to make an hour commute each way to work, so I'd like to not have to refill cartridges during the drive(I typically smoke 4 or 5 cigarettes each way depending on traffic).. I'm not sure how long a cart would last me though!

Cartridges work with an atomizer. Cartomizers are kind of like a two in one, cart + atty. The cartomizers can be slightly more tricky to refill (I watched a couple videos and got it right the first time).. but once filled, you don't have to refill nearly as much. I am sure that one filled carto would work on your way to work.. but I would have two just in case! Since trying the carto, I really dislike the atomizer and cart.. there are pros and cons in both cases, but the carto will have to be filled a lot less, no topping off at stop lights. I recently picked up a couple of cartomizer boxes from litecig and they are great, and a very good price for being in the US. I hope that helps, lots of coffee today means rambling for me!

Best of luck on your new journey, and welcome to ecf!

you'll be getting some cartridges with your initial kit......you MIGHT (but don't have to) order a box of 5 510 cartomizers to try out (you can get them from litecig)....otherwise you're way good to go.....just fill up a few cartridges and take them with you for the commute.....you might have to swap one out but that isn't a big deal while driving.....

congrats on the choice. i love all of my egos. someone suggested the hello 016 kit, but honestly there hasnt been any long term reviews yet. and if i am not mistaken, the cone IS the atty so would cost more in long run to use it. the hello can use reg 510 attys, but then the thing looks imcomplete without the cone. If i am wrong, someone will definitely speak up and say something. as far as my opinion, you just cant beat an ego. its a proven workhorse. and cignot is an EXCELLENT choice btw

If you're going with LiteCig, you might as well get some of their 510 Cartomizers as well.
I've just tried my first Carto on Friday, still vaping it today. They work GREAT. Super easy to refill, no leaks, and last a long time.
I believe Litecig also sells the Ego Kit. So you could get everything from one supplier, and they have free shipping over $15.

No I don't work for them...LOL.
I've just ordered several things from then, and they are a good company to deal with.

I plan on sticking with my decision of the eGo, thanks for the quick replies! How often should I plan on having to replace the atomizer if I'm using it as often as I smoke analogs(1 to 1 1/2 packs a day)? Same question with the cartridges and cartomizers?
After watching a video on refilling the cartomizer, they look like they might be too much of a hassle to refill, I might just order a pack and try it out though.

I use about 3 filled cartos a day, and I smoked a pack a day, but I would say I am a heavy vaper  Cartridges and atomizers were together, though I can't say for sure how often you will need to top it off. It's different for everyone. Just be sure you keep it good and moist! :)

Thanks for the headsup, I decided to do seperate vendors though since cignot seems to have more included with their kit(extra atomizer and cone), and I can get 2 different colors :)

Everything is a "hassle" to refill.
Actually, I've found cartomizers much less work "hassle" to refill.
The condom method works very well.
You can also just pop of the little white end piece, and slowly drop in the liquid.
Either way, it's no more hassle than refilling cartridges.

Plus, with Cartomizers, you don't have to worry about atomizers. Every cartomizer has it's own atomizer. They truely are disposeable.
At about $1.60 each at Litecig, if you can make it last 3 days, that's a little over 53 cents a day. Very economical.

I wasn't as clear as I thought I was re-reading my post ;) How long can I use each of the three before I'll need to throw them away?

I've been using mine (i only have one right now, more on order) for 3 days now.

Realistically, if you don't "Burn" it, you can use it for a VERY long time.

And burning it is if you let it get too dry.
As soon as you notice a reduction in Flavor and/or Vapor, refill it.
Don't wait till it starts tasting burned.

And again, I would say if you can use it at least 3 days (which I have) then it is cost efficient at about 50 cents a day.

Thanks, that looks like the route I might take since the cartomizer looks like it would fulfill my smoking habit during my commute :)
How long would I be able to use the cartridges/atomizers before I need to toss them? I'm not sure which method I'll like better so I want to make sure I'm not running out of anything in a few days, haha.

there are some people that have used them for a couple weeks.. some get a few days, some get a week. The amount of vapor and th I get on a carto compared to an atty/cart are night and day.. and more economical, as far as I calculated for my own personal use.. ego + carto = heaven!

Thanks, I wasn't aware one would have a better vapor/th over another! I'm taking a "best quality" approach in this purchase, hence why I'm not getting an e-cig at one of the gas stations locally like some of my co-workers have, so I suppose the cartomizer is the route I'd like to take.
While watching a video about refilling them, the guy said he let them sit overnight when filling his, is this a must? Or could I say keep 2 on hand, and just swap them out and refill, and be able to smoke the other by the time I've gone through 1?

I think that was just kind of a convenience thing.
He'd rather do the "work" of refilling at night, and just pick them up and go in the morning.

It's not a must to let them sit. Once you fill it, it's ready to go.
On youtube the video is called "Vapor King Electronic Cigarette Cartomizer Refill demo".. I can't post links yet :(
^The video I mentioned, he notes that "you can't fill and reuse right away". Just wanted some clarification..
Thanks :)
