Couldn't resist, @Zutankhamun ?? LOL I should have been calling it the Doggy style all along, LOL, since I read the packaging when I tried to set it up yesterday (failure, the deck, which I carefully put in the box, I KNOW, dematerialized.

Maybe I should order a new one (not) and perhaps call it by it's rightful name, and I might have more success? (LOL, I don't think so).

Thanks for the good wishes. I should ask the husband if he would be into an e-pipe, but I doubt it. He actually got the pipe because he doesn't enjoy it as much as cigarettes. LOL. So.... I think I'm doubtful, but I will ask,.

Thanks for the well wishes! The husband is still firmly asleep, so I bet he went insomniac last night, I guess I'll see what happens with the Great Awakening.

He needs a cigar shaped vape, but he seems to be doing okay so far. If he stops dual using I am going to give him a P3 with a Kabuki on top, as he will have earned it. I imagine he'll enjoy a tube style mod and etc.

I know, I’m a devious youth,
Chipper & “made” me a special screwdriver for doggystyle cracked me up!
You had to include ‘bedroom’ to make the joke better, the word ‘instructed’ was the icing on the cake ;)
Bravo!

Fair enough. I know it just doesn’t work for some though :(
My dad tried ‘properly’ but he said it’s just not the same and he continues to not smoke but spray the nico-stuff on his tongue.

Man, this morning the husband staggered out of the bedroom.... Into the study, where he is hiding from me.

LOL, first time it has happened, and apparently he smoked through all that tobacco (2 cartons worth) rather fast, because the only tobacco I have found in the house of late has been some (very elderly) cigars.

I'm trying to be nice... Like, yesterday, I told him to just fill his backup tank to the brim with WTA and vape it when things get awful.

Yesterday, he was like a bear caught in a foot trap, this morning he seems meek... and worn out.... I'm amused, and thinking back to what *I* may have looked like as I "transitioned." I think being as sick as I was sort of, uh, settled my mood....

I hope it continues (the quitting behavior, not the rest of it) so cross your fingers for him. Although I seem to have "stamped out" my stress cigarettes, period, yesterday was super stressful when dealing with the 8 year old (I am convinced one reverts to the mental state one was in, prior to cigarettes, at least during detox) in a fiery, adult rage, well, it will be worth it if he actually quits.

I am afraid that in the past, when the husband had "attempted" a quit, there are times I told him he should smoke because his acts were intolerable, but that was cold turkey. This time, I am telling him he better NOT come home with more tobacco supplies (I don't care if he falls of the wagon here and there, that's a bit normal) because I can only deal with this "quit" once.

But, cross your fingers for me, for the husband. If he gets to vaping alone, it will be quite miraculous. And so far... very quiet this morning.

Here's hoping though!

Anna

Yikes!! Good luck with hubby!!!

He's alright this morning, after staggering into the bathroom.... Moaning, hacking, and (possibly puking but I don't want to find out). He seems pretty chipper, but then, he's inside in the warmth, vaping away. Maybe he is giddy with success? I hope so, because I can't wait to hand him a P3 with a Kabuki on top, that will be his "quitting reward." LOL. He isn't aware of it yet... LOL.

I remember mornings like that. Having that go away and not wanting it back has been a strong incentive to stay quit.

I remember during my withdrawal period, I too was intolerable. My normal, jolly self was becoming what my wife described was an unbearable .... It really helped to have a son who was a wrestler on the number one team in the nation in high school. My wife sat me down to talk to me about it and he snuck up behind me and clocked me one with a 2X4 right in the sweet spot. He picked me up and carried me over his shoulder out to the garage and made it look like I was hit by something falling from the rafters pulling in my motorcycle for when the police and paramedics arrived (While I was proud of his quick thinking, he really didn't have to tip over my bike to make it convincing me off). I was unconscious in the hospital for a week and a half. My body went through withdrawals while I was out cold. I woke up a non-smoker!

The moral of the story is, got a smoker in the house? Clocked them with a 2X4 and cover it up to avoid assault charges.

I have been fighting to keep vaping, and stop smoking. For me, I found this book called "Allen Car easy way to stop smoking". For me, its made the transition SO much easier. The book just kinda takes the fear of putting down the cigs, not only explains why the fear, how wrong it is, and explains more the positive. It just helps erase the fears of what you think will happen when you stop, and replaces that fear with a more positive aspect of stopping.

YOu can get the ebook on amazon, think I paid like 8 bucks?? I also bought another one from the same author, geared more to the females. My gf is having such a tough time trying to quit, chantex failed, vaping failed, patches and cold turkey not a option. So the books are the last idea I have to help her.

I was under the impression that the "Easy Way" did not condone any form of nicotine use?

Yeah, I've read Carr's book. Nothing really new as far as using behavioral principles to quit smoking, though I guess he writes okay and kind of dumbs it down. It didn't do much for my cold turkey quit and I don't think it's too compatible with vaping.... It can be useful for some, but my husband isn't much of a reader, unless it's a manual or something. LOL.

There is a cigarette lying on my front porch though, and I am dying to ask about it but have held off. That conversation would go no place good.... I hope it just doesn't disappear, or even worse, get replace with a new one. Heh. You sleep in due to extreme fatigue, this is what happens. LOL.

It depends. Some people need a real justification to quit.
Even after, horrendously difficult for some.
My particular example was a desperate need to increase oxygen filled blood flow (medical).
I chose vaping, loved it.

My father began to get a bad chest and woke up hacking and found it hard to cycle to and from work.
He chose nicorette.

Is there an actual reason for him to quit?
Or is it only from texts he’s read and watching you.
Sorry if you’ve explained this

No matter the science and medical research for some, needs must is the case for a lot of people.

Nope, he's fairly healthy and stuff, but he wants to quit (I think). He told me vaping was "lame" and he was going to do it cold turkey but after months of failed attempts, he started vaping in the new year and dual use. I was figuring he would attempt to transition at some point, but (AFAIK) is not facing an urgent health issue. But, that's not really required for switching for many although that was what *I* needed. I think he just wants to quit. Mostly.

Whether he will succeed or not, well, that's anyone's guess...

I'm sure it would not. Take it from a guy who's been married to a never-smoker for 32 years. :)

I’m not sure about that. I think ‘we’ enjoy this community and the whole thing that comes with it.
It is rather cultish though and I can see why some people would never want to.

You remember how much you loved cigarettes? You need a strong reason to give that up. Why would you seriously give it a go if your fit and healthy, no problems and love a smoke?

I can only speak for myself and tell you I certainly wouldn’t.

The husband is 55 and has been smoking since age 8. If he doesn't have a health issue on the horizon, he may well soon. But yes, I do think the early age has something to do with it. I know he is smoking MUCH LESS but I don't begrudge a little dual use here and there. I never had a "quit day" it just happened, but I was pretty determined.

I hope he is eventually successful, man. I really don't want to have to do a "health issue" with him, he is a bear of a patient. So, I'm still optimistic because I can tell he is smoking WAY less than he was.

I did not expect him to "declare" his quit in any other way than "feel sorry for me and etc." I did not expect him to succeed instantaneously. A bit unfair, since I didn't myself. Maybe I should give him his P3 now, so that he can enjoy it, but I don't have enough button top batteries, so it will be after I order some (today).

If my dog had been over, I would suspect HER. Oh, and yesterday I found another "dropped" cigarette that I missed. I left it where it was. I don't think I'd ever smoke it, given the amount of cleaning that car has undergone, it would've been soaked in ammonia.... Oh wait, that wouldn't change it much, would it? But in any case, it held little appeal, I will grab it next time I clean out the car (the kids DOG sheds so MUCH hair as I ferry her around). LOL, I was shocked to find ANY cigarette unappealing, but that is what it was.

Maybe my bunnies smoke? LOL.
