I just posted a picture of my very serviceable, but kind of goofy looking set up (check the gear thread.) I use a 510 pass through with a little carto tank on it. When I'm not tethered to my computer/car, the tank goes on underpowered 510 batteries.

This pass through is just fine and has been a great place for me to start, but it is somewhat limited because I can't move around with it.

There are box mods, box mods with feeders, tube mods, grip mods ... based on my extensive, though confusing, research, I would not be surprised to learn that there is a Kotex mod.

So, what is your favourite kind of mod and why? My only limitation is that I have very small hands and the onset of arthritis, so I suspect that the bigger box mods would be difficult for me to use.

I just got a provari and I love it!...and it isn't as big as it looks in photos and is in fact quite slim TBH...it's very well built, and very high quality...However, if you have arthritis, it is a tad on the heavy side...and the button system requires a large amount of pressing...I love the provari, but it might be get annoying after a while for you. If you don't constantly feel the need to change settings, it would still be a great option. I just don't know how much benefit you would get from having a bunch of options you don't want to bother that require a fair amount of clicking.

Could you maybe go into more detail about your likes and dislikes?...

How much you vape each day?
Do you need to travel alot with it?
Is having a long lasting battery a concern?

If you're buying a mod, you should buy the one that suits your needs, and makes your life easier. I started out on KR8 equipment - it worked well enough, but I soon tired of refilling or topping off cartos (this was long before tanks came along). When I read about the WetBox (one of the early bottom-feeders), I was intrigued, so I bought one. It had its problems - leaks, a flaky switch, and a cheap plastic box - but I was sold on the concept. No more refilling cartos, and my cartos lasted a lot longer since I was able to keep them wet. When the REO Mini first became available, I ordered one - all the benefits in a non-leaky, industrial-strength package. I've since bought 4 more REO's, and they're all I use. The Mini and Grand are as durable as anything you'll find, and being all-mechanical, can be washed out if they get full of sawdust, etc. They're tough, reliable and simple to maintain, and have taken all the hassle out of vaping for me. And they have a fantastic support system in the REO subforum here.

Figure out what your goals and priorities are, ask a lot of questions, and you'll find just the right mod for you. Best of luck!

I like 3.7v plastic box mods and most have a big round button in the front(or back depending on how you hold it). They have a slide on/off switch on the front too. They are inexpensive. They are small and would fit in pocket or purse. Downside is if you drop them you can crack or break the plastic case. (but at the low price of about $20, I have a backup 510 box mod as well as a 901/808 one)

I also like these simple wood mods but even the smallest size (Twig) is a bit bulky for pocketing and the larger ones are more like table models.

An interesting long charge simple mod with a big button is the new Smoketech? Bolt which I saw at LiteCigUSA.net and Madvapes and elsewhere. Not skinny though - uses an 18500. I have not tried one.

I plan to get a variable voltage mod but have not yet. Still waiting for a cute one that isn't very long or very fat.

As a fellow arthritis sufferer (got Rheumatoid at 9) I have found that after handling a bunch of different PV's is that when I get the money, I will be getting a Provari.

For now though, I am using an eGo-T pass-through 1000mah, the cord is detachable, with a screw on cap where it connects, and it has at least 14 hours of battery life, with how I use it at least, (I can use it, dragging every min or two, from 7 am to 11pm, I haven't tried longer than that cause by 11pm I pass out!)

Its large enough that I don't drop it, the black has a sort-of rubberized feel to it which helps me hold onto it as well, I also made myself a crochet lanyard "tube" that it hangs in, with a hole for the button, and leaves the drip tip (or tank, or cartomizer or whatever) exposed. So if I do drop it, It only falls as far as my chest LOL.

It is not a "mod" but I have added things that I love greatly. I am now fully committed to dripping at home vs using an T-Atty and tank (just got the package in this afternoon and it is just marvelous!) I also just purchased (and received) a Mini sub and boge 2.0 tank set up. Again, LOVING it.

Not quite what you are looking for, but the eGo-T battery lasts a good amount of time, is well powered (for me anyway) and I can hold it easy for long periods due to its size.

Just something to consider at least :) Since it has worked so well for me for so long.

Thanks for the excellent advice, especially about how the various mods work with arthritis. Even with Voltaren (sp) gel my hands can ache pretty bad sometimes.

My passthrough does not have a battery so it is somewhere between 3.2 and 5.0 depending on the power source. It is not at all consistent.

I spend up to 10 hours a day in the car, which is why I quickly switched to a passthrough and why I came to love the tank.

The Darwin looks it would be lighter than a Provari, but it doesn't look like it would be tank friendly.

I fell in love with my REO Grand. Reo also has a mini for the smaller hand, but I havent tried that one. I grabbed it for the long battery life and the juice feed system. You don't need to add a tank, just fill the on board 6ml bottle, squeeze and vape. I usually get 2 days with out filling or changing the battery.
