Harsh? HARSH? This ain't just harsh, it's gargling fiberglass dust harsh! It's deep-throating sandpaper phalluses harsh! It's ... OK, I ran out of steam on that. Anyone else have any more to suggest?

Point being, this thing is NASTY, with a capital N.

OK, first, a discription. The Aeros is a white plastic flattened cylinder, slightly pinched together in the middle, and sealed on both ends. You have to cut off both ends with scissors, and inside is a folded papery substance, I presume to be tobacco laced with some chemical delivery system. You just inhale through it, and the air somehow picks up the nicotine as it passes. You keep puffing on it as long and often as you want. If you deplete the nicotine, let it rest, and it'll recharge somehow, and you can puff away again for a while. It's supposed to last for up to 3 days, depending on use.

I used to smoke lights or ultra-lights, so my tolerance is lower than most, so YMMV, but I can feel the hit fairly well. It feels about like the medium strength e-liquid, or so. And the menthol flavour is also strong, almost overpowering. Without the visible smoke, the experience is somewhat lacking, but it would do fine for an airplane or restaurant, for example. If the rush and the taste were the whole sensation.

But the strongest sensation is not the rush, or the taste, but the horrible burning in the back of the mouth and the throat. If you just take one or two hits, it's OK. A bit of a stinging feeling like strong mouthwash. Or a bit too much e-smoke. But too many hits, and it gets worse, untill it feels like your throat's being scoured with steel wool. And it keeps on stinging each time you breathe.

Now, they send you a letter which says, paraphrased, that it takes some time to get used to smoking it, and you should give it at least THREE PACKS to get used to it!! B' F'ing ****!! I am not, say again, NOT, gonna PAY to be tortured like this two more times, and at $27 plus shipping and tax, each, no less.

I'll keep taking an occasional puff or two a few times a day, and if it gets better by the end of the pack, I'll consider buying another, because i really want it to work, so I'll have an option for times and places where even the e-cig isn't allowed. But that's it. If this burning doesn't stop, Aeros is out.
leaford,

You are hard to track down and don't answer your emails on YouTube. You got me into these NJOYs and now you're all over the place with different ones.
Question for you or anyone who reads this and please send this via email. I just got on here today. I am coughing with the GP. I have COPD and don't know how GP might react to it or it to GP. Wouldn't VG, being moisture react the same? Does anyone here know? I can't smoke and don't want to stop. Hence e-cigs. Any ideas??? You've tried practically all of them so far.

Ladybug,

Sorry, but no I don't check my Youtube messages often. I get too many dumb commens about my bird or moustache. :p Besides, while I have tried a lot of e-cigs I don't know everything, so questions like this are really best posted here, where others can also help answer, and where what you learn will also benifit other people. So, I'm glad you found me here, and I hope you do check back and see what others say.

Because in this case, I really can't help you. I've never tried any VG formula. ANd I know nothing about PG and COPD other than I don't think many others have had an issue.

But I'm sure some one else, like Kate, can help you and will jump in.

And can a moderator cut off this portion of the thread and move it to the newbie section, with maybe a redirect link added here?

Hi Ladybug51,

I am not a doctor, but suffer from COPD and two years ago my lung function was 60%. I was still smoking about 40 a day and the next year it had gone down to 58%8-o Managed to cut down to 10 cigs a day and my lung function held about the same. Started with e-cigs in July this year and am now down to 1 or 2 cigs a day. My coughing has stopped and breathlessness has improved a lot. I had a check up about a week ago and my lung function has improved, not a lot but a definite improvement. My doctor is well impressed, not sure about e-cigs but the reduction in real cigs has at least held the COPD in stasis. I may be fortunate along with a lot of others but I am not allergic to propylene glycol, have had no adverse effects from my e-smoking about 1ml a day, just a sense of satisfaction and reduction in the need to smoke real cigs.

Cheers

Dave

Thank you Kate. You have really tried to help me out. I think I found a reason. I have been running a cool mist humidifier when I turn on the heat in the morning to breathe easier. I didn't this morning and haven't choked. Perhaps the humidifier and vapor were too much. I'll keep an eye on it. Thank you again!

Thanks to all for your responses. And Dave ... for the thumbs up. As I told Kate, I think I found out the problem; too much moisture. Leaford, I used to have cockatiels. Miss them big time. Your bird and mustache don't bother me. What I really laughed at was your comment to it, "Why do I even bother allowing comments". I hope you didn't shave it off because of that.

I love this blog and I thank EVERYONE who has answered. I hope to eventually quit nicotine. I enjoy smoking too much and I think ecigs is the best yet.

Man, sorry to hear how bad it got. Glad to hear your doing better. Just keep it up. My cough has gone away and I think I'll try VG mostly because i don't hear much about it and because I can.

I couldn't smoke a ... without coughing like I was dying when in reality, I was. I was haunting my mailbox and as soon as I got my e-cig, tore into and went to town having fun. I couldn't believe it. The coughing started a few days later but I figured out why, above. I haven't had a ... now since the 9th. I am so glad it wasn't the ecig making me cough. Going to see a lung specialist someday if they'd get their act together. I sure hope he doesn't suggest not vaping. My reply? Which is the lessor of two evils. Aye, KIT. Bug
