Copper/Brass worries - I enlarged my DiD clone wick hole

I enlarged my DiD clone wick hole by drilling it out to 7/64
I have exposed either copper or brass which was originally plated in chrome.
Is this safe to use or did I just destroy my DiD?

I've drilled out several of them. I've never worried about it. The temperatures inside aren't high enough to cause any harmful affect.
