Copper plating?

Ok so I have a few copper mods coming in the mail. What I'm wondering is, can I take a cap from one of my stainless drippers and copper plate it myself? I don't know of any copper rda around.

You could use a vapor deposition or electrolytic setup to copper-plate stainless, but would you really want to put copper in your mouth? Copper is toxic and may even stain your lips and gums blue/green.

It's possible to copper plate at home, but not easy or cheap. I've been toying with it myself.

To plate stainless you need to plate with nickel first, via Woods nickel solution. Then plate with a copper sulfate bath.

I did this stainless drip tip recently:


Not bad for a first try, has good adhesion. Surface was rough, and took some polishing to get to this state.

You can find copper caps for several RDA's... check TOBH and APO
