Or if you are using an 0-16, get one of the beauty rings for it.
I just might get some of those FD pins ordered.

Definitely. :thumb: And at 24 mm those look as though they were made for the mod.

For others. I know you know. ;)

I agree. Looks to me like a tension/shear break not a compression break.

For those who really want a SS pin, remember, the Fatdaddy M2.5 squonk pin works. I've tried it. Upside is it's stronger and has a 1.2 mm juice hole vs. 1.0 mm for stock. Downside is the head is thicker. Your atty will stick up over 1 mm unless you grind it down. Otherwise, no other dimension needs to be altered.

That is interesting.I have a bunch of the FD 2.5mm pins but didn't realize the pin in the mod was the same size, now i want to mod my mods just for the sake of modding them haha.
Does the insulator in the mod come off the screw fairly easily?

I have checked out FT's forum for any mention of the pin breaking on these, and didn't see anything. Seems like if it were a common problem, some talk of it would be there.

i agree. i've wrenched down on my pins pretty hard with no problems of them breaking. i've also pimped my Coppervape BF mods on FT for a while now and haven't heard any talk of the pins breaking either.

It's a slip fit. Should slide off freely.

Yeah, but they cloned it in a standard threading, (R-L), instead of reverse threading, (L-R), like Rob eventually wound up with!!
I had one for a short time, it really sucked, not a clone but a ....ty copy

Dual battery big brother for Coppervape.

Haven't done the finishing yet, but the Vertex Triple squonk conversion is working great. Gonna vape it for a few days to make sure there are no problems, finish, then take it apart for detail pics.

The catfish did a BF conversion of the Vertex a little over a year ago... Most guys complained of leaking and oxidizing contacts and basically wasn't too keen on having to take it apart to clean it once a week. Recently he has changed it over to a VariTube 510 and the maintenance is better it seems... Now it seems it needs to be taken apart and cleaned every couple weeks with some reported leakage from the new 510 as well... Personally I never bought one because it was too much of a hassle to do a bottle fill in it much less having to clean it once a week!!

Looks good though...

Ye of little faith. ;) Yeah, Vertex is always going to need contact cleaning. I've been using another as a triple for months.

Came up with a bottle mount method for this which makes refills quick and easy. Made a brass fitting to mate the bottom of the 510 pin and a 14 ga needle. Needle catches and slides into the bottle tube easily to about 1/4" past the cap, pinching the seal with the bottle cap from the inside and outside. No leaks there. Up top I have three o-rings around the center pin inside the 510. Will see about leaking there.

Cant wait for the internal pics!! what 510 did you use(vt , fdv)? What size bottle?

The 510 is modified from stock, so it remains fully mechanical. Made the center pin from an M4 SS screw. Bottle is a Reo type @ ~8 ml, though I intend to use a BF modified Avocado 24 RDTA on this mod, which adds another 3 ml.
