The Armour is on 3F for 5 bucks, SKX verion.

Great Price. Must be around their Cost.

Kinda Amazing (but also Kind Sad for American Manufacturing) that something like this rda can be made for about 5 Bucks.

I was looking at the Replacement Hardware Kit V2 for the Coppervape last night. Do you really have to bend the metal piece that much to install it? Thank You

Not a lot.

The Metal piece acts like a Spring. So you compress it Slightly with you finger when you put it In or Take it Out.

It is Very Simple and Very Easy to Replace it.

OK, thanks for that. I was looking at it because the mod wasn't firing strong and battery life was poor. I tightened the juice bottle 510 connection really, really tight and it's working a lot better now.

Things usually Don't really have to be Super Tight. Clean and Shiny is the Key.

Rubbing Alcohol/Q-Tips and a Green Scotchbrite Pad can do wonders.

Got the Brass CV in today. Man, it does have some heft to it. Haven't use it yet but put the rebuild kit in the silver one and cleaned it up real good. It's like new. Got the Hadaly clone in today too and it's got some very good flavor.

I want to get one more CV and was wondering if the logo will come off with paint on the black one after a while. If so, that's the one I'll get.

My paint is "chipping" or flaking off a bit - at the seam between cap and body, and at the bottom.
Logo looks like new, lol. It does have a LITTLE texture, like maybe you could fingernail it off, but I don't want to try.

Has anyone upgraded their contacts with the kit online? Does it offer any benefits?

I have a couple. They're just for replacement purposes, not an upgrade.

The squonk pins come in handy because they're prone to breaking. I'm still on the original hardware otherwise, even the contact springs.

I took mine apart to clean it and a small plastic piece fell out from the 510. I didn't notice, everything seemed tight. I fired it and got a small puff of smoke from the battery side. I pulled the battery instantly and while it was warm it wasn't hot. It's a vtc5a and I was wondering if I can still use the battery. It's cool now and didn't get hot.

I put the small plastic piece back in the 510 under the pin and now the bottle won't get tight. Any ideas or are mechs just not for me lol. I have a boxer 18650 on the way so I'm hoping this was just a one time deal.

There are two plastic pieces. Make sure you have the smaller that fits inside around the pin in the right orientation. Assuming you've put it back together correctly, if the bottle cap spins without tightening use a small screwdriver to hold the center pin while you tighten the cap. Remember, finger tip tightening only. The pin can break if you overtighten.

Sounds like you might have caught the shorted battery in time. Put both in your charger. If they both fully charge to 4.2V they're usable. Though you've most likely shortened the lifespan of the pair significantly.

I don't have anything to determine what voltage my batteries are at. I have a intellicharger i4 from nitecore.

I check the mod with a multimeter, before using it after a rebuild. It's easy to miss something or make a slight mistake when re-assembling.

The battery will have been damaged to a certain extent, and it will have a reduced capacity. Its almost impossible to gauge by how much without specialist equipment.

The battery is probably OK
BUT......
Personally for the price of a VCT5 I would just replace it. A few dollars for piece of mind is no biggie. I would rather recycle a good battery, than use a compromised cell.

I would not be using a mech without having a meter to check for shorts or battery voltage. They don't cost much. Far less than a trip to the emergancy department....
