I have a Ego T 900mah battery and a Vivi Nova V2 with 1.8-2.4-2.8 ohm coils. I am still experimenting trying to find some thing that works for me to get off reg cig. I do not like a lot of throat hit but have have a good flavor I like. So far I have not found one. I am trying 70PG/30VG on e-liquid. I am thinking about trying 100 VG or 50/50 VG. But first I want to get the right hardware for me a starting place. There is so much to choose from. I have the Ego T 900mah batteries and the vivi nova V2 but I do not know which coil to give the best taste I have read and looked at charts and am more confused. I like the viva for ease of fill and cleaning.I need some advice on the correct coil on the viva and does some one have a formula for this or is it trial and error I would like to get in the ball park and adjust from there on the e-liquid I know this trial and error but would like some suggestions about PG or VG and what percent. I am a heavy smoker and I know my taste probably is different than a light smoker this may not make a difference. Any advice would very much appreciated. I want off reg cigs.

Hi! I too(at first) found that I didn't want ANY "throat hit" -- but as I've "matured" in my vaping, I find that I do like a little now, having said that:

I find that only the 2.8 coil really works well for me on a 3.7 battery. I use my vivi nova on my 800mAh leo battery with the 2.8 -- and it works well, though I actually prefer the 2.8 on my lavatube set just under 3.7v -- I've found that the 2.4 and the 1.8 only work well for me at just barely over 3v, and if I use them on my 3.7 batteries I end up with dry hits or burnt taste, though that may not be the case with a lighter juice that can wick more quickly, or even on a rewicked head (haven't done that yet).

A lot of it does come down to the juice you're using, and personal preference, so I'm afraid that trial-and-error will probably be the only thing that will enable you to find the perfect vape with the nova on your batteries.

I am using mostly 50/50 naturally extracted tobacco juices-- which are somewhat problematic, but worth it to me, since I like the real tobacco flavor. I've found 70% PG/30% VG is a better mix for the nova, as it's not as thick, unfortunately I've yet to find a juice I really like in that ratio, though I'm still searching! Most NET juices are 50/50.

That battery has a 3.7 volt output. Here are some tools to help you calc the correct ohms to use. Most vapers use between 4-8 watts but some go higher for the TH or because of dual coils.

The pdf is a work in progress plan on a big one with all kinds of info later. The chart is good for single coils. The XL sheet will help you to calculate wattage as that is what we are aiming for.

Oh the 1.8 ohm head on the Vivi will give you a little less than 8 watts 7.6 watts. That will give you the most vapor and maybe a TH.

As other have said, everyones likes/dislikes will be different. I like my VIVI with the 2.4ohm, set on my provari anywhere from 3.3-4.3vlts. I just completed my first rebuild on the vivi (coil and wick) using 32 Kanthal wire, and cotton wicks. Came out at 2.2 ohms, so have been vaping it between 3.8-4.3 vlts, but typically closer to 3.8. As for juice, I like the black cherry 12mg, menthol, or spearmint. Also like the strawberry. The juices are mixed at approx 70/30 vg/pg.

Good luck, and happy vaping.

I recall reading from somewhere around ECF that the Ego non-variable voltage batteries actually put out only 3.3 volts? When I was using Ego batteries, only the 1.8 head was vapeable. I don't like much throat hit either, but the higher ohm heads just need a bit more power to get richer flavor out of the juices I like.

Grab a multimeter and TEST! My nova kit that came with only 2.8s, the first one in the tank is actually 3.0-3.1. A fresh charged battery is different than a low charge one. Change one variable at a time, with a specific setup you might like one 70/30 liquid, but another flavor from the same place with the same base might hit totally different. The same goes with a liquid in different bases, 70/30 might wick or burn too fast, 50/50 might be too slow for that flavor, and both tastes might be radically different.

Not liking a lot of throat hit and before trying new feed systems, if you like your nova so far, take it 1 step at a time: get a blend with a little more vg of a strong flavor you can keep vaping, see how that works/hits.
Then, if more vg feels/tastes better for you, try the 2.4 head. But keep in mind, lower res, means more than just more watts, the heat distribution explained in the coils pdf in the post by steved5600 is a great visual.
That will give you/others helping a better idea of what step to take next.
