Living on Guam almost everyting must be imported, with that said everything can be a bit more on the expensive side. I bought a Ego starter in august 2013 for about $85 included a 10ml blueberry juice 18nic, I played with it for a bit and added some menthol $12 per 10 ml to the juice which made it a little better. Still smoked 1.5 packs a day of Paul Mall greens at $5 a pack. Just vaped once or twice a week at the time. In late January 2014 I picked up a twist vv bat, along with a two or three diferent Juices and a few clearos at about $100 for the vv twist to include 1 clearo topper and charger $6 each for the extra clearos and about $12 for the juices. Started to vape more and more and smoked less and less till I was down to two cigs per day in mid Feb. Toward the last few days in feb I pulled the plug on Cigs compleatly, Bought a few more juices In various nic strength from 18-6 and a few more Cheap toppers. The other day I pulled the trigger on a vamo 5 and all the stuff to make it work. so here is what I am looking at.

Items purchased at local B&M stores
Ego starter $85
Various juices $200
various toppers $100
VV twist type bat (kit set) $100
--------
estimated total rounded up $500

First online purchase Mt. Baker Vapes

Vamo V5, Batts, 1 juice, 1 PT2M
extra coils, charger. $148.42 (includes shipping)

So this $650 shocked me as I had not realized I had spent this much so quickly. I then started to look back on my 25 years of smokeing, and added up the cost. When I started it was about $3 per pack of Marlborro, then went up to about $8, a few years ago I switched to Pall Malls which have remained steady at about $5. Using the $5 per day for 25 years came out to $45,625. Lets round that up to an even $50,000. That comes out to $3,802 per year!!!! It blows my mind. not included are the many times I wasted doctors visits for half used Chantix, niccorett, patches etc...

Back to the present and future, I do not anticipate spending more than $50 per month on Vape suplies which will run in the average of $600 per year. Was it worth it to make the switch? Well my family loves it that I no longer smoke and stink in fact I smell like a donut shop. I feel better knowing I am no longer inhaling all those chemicals, by breathing is getting better, as well as my sense of smell. And although my wallet is curently empty I look foward to the savings to come.

Again was it worth it? Yup, every penny.:2cool::vapor:

I spent quite a bit of $$ starting out too....I have never added it up because I think it would scare me. But I got a ton of different juices as I tried to find thing I would enjoy vaping, and even the juice I didn't care for so much might come in handy sometime (or taste better as time goes on). I wish I'd found this forum before I'd invested $$ in things like Green Smoke, which I only used for a week, and Halo G6, which I used for a couple more weeks, and on and on. But cigs here are $7/pack and I was going through one and a half a day, so....in the end vaping is cost effective, to say nothing of health effective. :vapor:

I am the bacon bringer homer in my family... Sometimes I feel guilty about spending money on myself for my vaping (wants/needs) - but I never really felt that guilt when I was smoking? Even though I was ...... at the skyrocketing cig prices - I paid it.. So, I track my vape spending carefully - trying not to exceed what I would of spent on cigs. -- since I am only 60 days in this - I think eventually, my purchases will dwindle down.. and perhaps I can finally trade me my ole pickup truck and get a new one! :)

On the 15th of this month, I will be even money from day 1 of 100% stopping analogs. My Fasttech shopping cart currently has 7 items that I am going to hold off on until the 15th.... then its pay and wait a damn month! :) ... and I got some liquids I want to try too... 5 days not smoking will pay for them...

Good luck, and watch out for them coconut crabs!

you are moving right on up. Next thing we know you will be a Buffalo Bills fan.

When I first started vaping 2 years ago (alongside analogs until this year though), I spent a good $500 just to get started. Then, this January I made the jump from analogs to vaping exclusively. From Jan 15 to now, I've spent somewhere around $900 on devices, batteries, juices, attys, tanks, clearos, drip tips, adapters, wraps for my devices, etc. Looking at RBA's now and I'm sure Fast Tech will be taking a good chunk of my money soon. My wallet sits alone and weeps at night, but I think it's worth it. I have all sorts of shiny, awesome vape supplies, and instead of smelling like the Marlboro Man after a week without a shower, I smell like a giant Mint. My kids are thrilled that mommy doesn't smoke anymore, and even they like to look at the shiny stuff at my B&M shop. I haven't actually saved any money yet, but it's still worth it, just to be able to breath easier!

How many cigarettes are in a pack in Guam? I ask because as I understand it in some countries a "pack" is 10 cigarettes and in others it's 20. In the US a "pack" is 20 cigarettes. I'm just curious.

Cigs range from $3 america to about $8 premium (camels, Marlboros) 20 in a pack. By the way Guam IS a part of the US, not a seperate country, however we on Guam are the ....... stepchild of the US. We cannot vote for pres, and have a sitting member of Congress who has no vote as well. We do however live on a tropical paradise.
