A lot of people have switched to Koh Gen Do. They are organic cotton pads. You can google them or look on Sephora. You just cut tiny strips and roll them. When I use cotton balls, I either get organic and sometimes still boil them to get all the impurities off. Or you can buy preboiled organic cotton directly from kidneypuncher's website.

It should be OK to use. I boil mine, though some say that may introduce more bacteria and what all. I just think it tastes better initially.

Can't say as I've seen an unbleached cotton ball - organic or otherwise. Unbleached cotton is brownish.

You can find unbleached cotton yarn at Walmart (Peaches & Cream) I would BOIL that - who knows what's touched it at Walmart.

I really can't see the purpose but to each his/her own. But if you are going to boil it use distilled water and not tap water. Using tap water is just defeating the purpose. Tap water is no better than an analog when it comes to chemicals used to make it palatable/safe. Now unless you can filter out all the added minerals and chemicals from the tap water, then by all means use it.:D I just use sterile cotton and all is well in my world.

No disrespect intended and to each his own, but there is no point at all into boiling of the impuritys of a cotton ball. Yes organic cotton is the way to go most defenitly, but in the long run if your using any old cotton ball it will suffice. No need to waste valuable time waiting for a piece of cotton to dry. I used to do it myself but it really makes no difference imho.
