Cotton taste experience

Experience weird situation with cotton.
I build occ or rba using scottish roll and kept getting cotton taste and not dry hit. Every single vape there will be little to no flavor but cotton taste. But strangely the next day when I wake up and vape, no more cotton taste.

So after many tries yesterday I just build it and leave over night and no more cotton taste! You might tries to tell me it is the way I build my cotton or maybe I uses lesser but... I m very consistent with my cotton. The other funny thing is letting my vaporizer sit over night, the next day my liquid appear to have slightly ting of red color. Check everything and no rust and taste great.

What am I missing here? Is my puff organic cotton having issue? Or it have super duper long setting time? Please kindly advise cause it is driving me abit nuts here... If it is cotton will buying Ken gen do help?

Some cotton have a longer breaking in period. Just use the same cotton longer.

I see a lot people have good comment on Ken gen do. Any ideas the breaking period? As long less than 30 min I will be super happy. Puff organic cotton is way to long. Haha

Dunno about that cotton. Not worth it for me although I heard nothing but good things about them. Too expensive for me anyway. I always used muji and they have never given me any problem so far. Just have to let them break in for 30min

Do your liquid turn dirty red as you vape? If it does not than I think I will buy muji and try. Mine just start turning dirty red and I am not sure is that the stuff that is causing cotton taste if I do not let it break in.

Have been using muji for super long and never experienced any cotton taste eh. Dont know if its my taste buds problem or not haha

I taste the cotton on first mouth after rewicking. Subsequently, I will just fire up and blow into the air vents to get rid of the first few mouths. Problem solve after 2 minutes. No need to wait so long.

The red color is probably the nicotine getting oxidised. You will see this prominently with light color juices.

For me I found out how to remove the cotton taste. I make sure the wick is properly soaked (no white spots left) with ammo. Once my tank is loaded, I fire off a few preliminary clouds by blowing in it so that the clouds escape tru the vents. It works for me after a couple of them prelim shots.

Personally "stretching" out my cotton before wicking keeps the break in to about 10 puffs.

Thanks all! Tried everything and found the root cause. I have been turning coil on 3mm screw and 2.5mm screw. Apparently it is too big for my nano RBA airflow. Once I change my coil to 2mm screw, the nasty cotton taste is gone.
