Hi everyone, this is my first post even though I've been a member for a little while now. Thanks for all of the great information - been off analogs (2 PAD) for over 5 months thanks in large part to this site. Don't know that anyone has posted anything about doing this (I'm sure someone probably has), but I've been doing it for about a week now and its been working great. I use cotton yarn for wicks in my T3s and my rba, and I've read here and believe that it helps to let the wicks sit and start 'wicking' before using. I took an empty 236ml juice bottle of my ADV, put about 1/8" worth of juice in and I let a foot or so of wick soak. When I build a new coil I use wick that's been soaking for days and I don't have to wait to use it.

I use cotton balls sometimes as well, I do love 'em but I chain vape (is that even a real term?) a lot and the problem that I have is that I burn the wick. It always ends up happening but if I don't give the wick a chance to soak pretty good it happens really quick. I put juice on the wick before I close it up but I've still burned them without some 'soak time'. And I when I say burned I mean burned completely through and I pull them out in 2 pieces.

Try 30g wire. I had a problem with my Protank 2 and EVOD heads tasting burnt with 32g. The legs are just too long and when I switched to 30g the problem went away and I get a MUCH better vape. I also use cotton balls as a wick. Just pinch off a little bit and twist into a wick. It allows more liquid to the coil because it's not as dense as yarn.

It might not be the cotton actually. The reason for the thicker wire is so the legs don't burn the rubber grommet. Which, IMO, is more prevalent than burning the cotton on a bottom coil. How does your "burntness" taste? It took me a couple months to really figure out all the bad tastes people were talking about, that's why I'm asking.

My grommets don't seem to be burnt, but when I get the burnt taste and I pull it apart the wick will have burn spots in the center of the wick. Earlier this evening I had one that was literally burnt into 2 pieces. I think sometimes the wick isn't able to pull the juice to the center of the wick fast enough. I've tried wrapping my coils with the open center, 3 over then a space and another 3 over, but it puts my resistance a little higher than I like, your 30 ga. wire suggestion should help that. Seems to help for me to have 2 tanks going and when 1 starts getting hot switching over to the other.

All I ever use is 28 gauge after buying various gauges but I don't use a kanger, instead I'm all rba, rda or kayfun.
The advantage of 28 gauge is it's do thick if making micro coils they'll last a month and all that's needed is to replace the cotton every few days (which should be done when using cotton) and dry burn the coil clean.
