EVOD Flavor Wick swap to Cotton out of the box

So I've been using the EVOD tanks now for several weeks and love them. Will usually keep 2-3 spares filled with different flavor for quick swaps throughout the work day. Due to my job, I have to keep the spares in the car during the day and it can get pretty hot out there. I started finding that after a couple days the tanks will start leaking around the wick allowing fluid into the air hole.

After watching some youtube videos on rebuilding the heads and reading about cotton wicks, I went out to Wally World and got some Peaches and cream cotton yarn to experiment with. I started my adventure by tearing down a couple used heads and saw how they have the coil and the separate flavor wick. I found that the combined wicks would start allowing a small gap for fluid to leak so I swapped out the stock flavor wick with the cotton yarn.

I tried a couple different thicknesses and settled on using all 4 strands of cotton as the replacement flavor wick on the heads leaving the stock coil. It seems that the cotton is just a tad larger than the stock flavor wick and has so far stopped the leaking problem I was having. I went ahead and replaced the flavor wick on all my in use EVODs and have been very pleased with the results.

Just wanted to share a little tip I found useful and hope others due as well...

I have done this with my Kanger T3's and tried an EVOD as well. I tend to make my wicks to fat and it restricts the air flow. However the taste is better. How long do yours normally last? Ty for the tip as well.

I did the same - left the coil wick and made a fat flavour wick out of my girl's makeup pads. Tastes beautiful. I hope the cotton on top (protank) will stop silica particles from going up to my lungs... What do you think?
