I never get popping and spitting that comes through my drip tip on my tongue....

It definitely snap crackles and pops.... But doesn't get me.

Perhaps more cotton is needed? You say you only use 3 strands? That's awful thin no?

Maybe...but due to the cotton expanding I didn't want to "choke" it out. I've read where to much is just as bad as not enough. Still wanted good wicking. Maybe I should try more on next re-wick. Also thinking about putting a bit more above the coil (flavor wicks) and if it pops...it would have to go through more there. Hmmmm

I've tried Peaches & Cream....I actually think it gives a more muted flavor which is why I now use Sugar & Cream. Still boil it for 20 minutes and let air dry overnight b/c I have NO idea where it has been or who has handled it. Safety and piece of mind I suppose. Now...you say you use 1 piece for wick. Do you mean a full 4-strand piece? Assuming so. What size coil are you running? I ask as I've been using micro-coils wrapped around a 1/16" drill bit. Currently using 3 strands and 2 strands as flavor wicks on my 60-70 PG juices. Occassionally, I get a nasty POP/SPIT of juice coming up the tip and hitting me in the tongue. Not enough cotton?? Maybe coil isn't placed correctly? Any thoughts....

FYI.... I get 100' of 30 gauge A1 Kanthal for $5.50 from Lightning Vapes. Also sells from within Ebay. He has various size and lengths of A1 Kanthal (varies in price), silica and ekowool if interested.

Yes, a full 4 strand piece for the wick and 2 strands for the flavor wick. I just made another microcoil, 1.5 ohm using 28 AWG with 11 (or 12) wraps at 5/64 diameter in a protank II and it was TIGHT getting it in without shorting out. I'll be hitting the local B&M looking for some 30 AWG today hoping it will fit a little better in the head.

If it's spitting at you try adding another strand to the flavor wick or turning up the voltage to keep up with the wicking. Oh, most of my liquids are 50/50.

Is Sugar & Cream another brand of yarn? Where did you get it? I like the Peaches and Cream, but always on the hunt for better flavor. :D

Thanks for the advice. Will try adding a bit more for flavor wick as well as turn the heat up. As for the S&C....it's another 100% cotton yarn that my wife picked up at Michael's or some craft store when she couldn't find the P&C at Walmart. Both here and I think the S&C tastes better.

FYI on the A1 Kanthal. I get mine from Lightning Vapes, 100' for like $6. He sells direct from his website as well as off Ebay.

I've been doing 30AWG on a 1/16" drill bit using 10 wraps getting 2.0 ohm +/- 0.1
If you go from 28 to 30, you'll need less wraps to get at that 1.5 mark. I've found using the 1/16 that each wrap is ~0.2 but using a 5/64 diameter it would probably be a bit more b/c your using slightly more wire to get each wrap.

Have you tried 1/16 vs your 5/64? Wondering if using the larger and sitting it higher may be beneficial...?
