Hi, how often should I have to change the cotton wick in my kayfun lite plus?
I've had it about 2 days and after some trial and error I got a pretty good coil @ 2.0 and its vaping well
I want to use this when I go to work which is a 12 hour day I need to gauge it so my wick doesn't crap out on me halfway thru the day
Haven't really been able to gauge it cause I'm only using it at nite vaped About 4mil
In 2 days I usually do that much on a work day I tried to look it up online but it varies from 1 tank to 1 week before having to change the cotton so if anyone could narrow it down a little for me
Thank you
Oh I'm using a 70/30 pg VG juice

For me it is a matter of when the coil needs burned off and cleaned...I change the wick at that time. I use only unflavored liquid so my coils last longer than most. I get about ten tanks thru mine before I need to clean and dry burn it.

If I am going to be out and about for a few hours (or even an hour) I always carry an extra tank and battery...you never know.

I agree with what others said... there's too many factors to really pin down a time. It's an "as needed" thing. Sometimes I go for a week, sometimes I go for a day.

Right now, I have a Kayfun lite on a box mod.. had the same coil for a month, same wick for about 5 days. I was thinking of doing a complete rebuild soon...but it still works fine now.

I can get a good 6+ kayfun tanks out of the 1.4 ohm cellucotton build but it usually not sweet juices. I find the coil gunks up before the cellucotton craps out. I'm quite surprised how good of shape week old cellucotton is after pulling it from the coil and examining it.
I have plenty of protanks kickin around to gunk up with my sweet juices.

Just rinsed & did a dry burn on this two month old coil & silica wick. Why do you guys mess around with that cotton?!?

I use rayon, and for me it's the wicking ability, the taste, and the ease of rewicking. Not too much trouble to put in a new wick, and at that point my coil has usually gunked up so badly that I need to clean it anyway.

Just jumping in to agree, it really is juice dependent. I've gone anywhere from a day to four or five days.

Well, I don't do cotton any more, but I've found that with Rayon and Tencel Top I can push the power up and the ohms down because the wicks can keep up, and the flavor really starts to bloom.

When I changed juice, I change my cotton. Just started using Japanese cotton. I don't have an opinion yet, but it seems pretty good. It takes less than 2 minutes to change so it's no big deal so I burn my coils and change my cotton somewhat often. I haven't had to change coils in a month in any of my tanks, etc. so burning them clean must help :)

i know organic cotton is best. but for regular cotton how long should i boil it?

I'm certainly not the cotton-boiling expert, but I've seen more than a few folks suggest three "boiling periods" of 15 minutes in length. The last time I boiled cotton (Walgreen organic cotton balls) I only boiled it once for about ten minutes, and it really probably didn't even need it. I boiled a handful, and that was enough to last me until I moved on to wicking with other materials.
