I used organic cotton balls for quite some time without boiling then decided to boil some for comparison. I found it to be so much better boiled. Easier to work with, better absorbing, longer lasting in the coil, and better tasting. Just boil a small hand full and you have a years or more supply. Also, use distilled water for the boil and rinse. You can buy it at the drug store for less than $2 a gal. It leaves the cotton clear of minerals from your tap water.

about 6 months for me.

but i'm tellin' ya... you gotta try that koh gen do cotton. it's friggin' fantastic! you'll see, after a while, you'll notice other cotton gives off a taste when you first install your wick. koh gen do doesn't do this, it's easy as pie to work with and the fibers are already lined up perfectly straight for fantastic wicking properties.

it's love at first vape, i tell ya.

I heartily second Beckdg's recommendation of Koh gen do cotton. I wouldn't use anything else. No boiling, no chemicals, no break in.

Koh Gen Do Pure Cotton.

Made from 100% cotton that has not been chemically treated, bleached or pigmented. Raised without the use of chemical fertilizer or pesticides to ensure pure, safe quality.

I see this has become the cotton of choice amongst the GP crowd. Waiting for mine to be delivered. :D

@beckdg the first time I saw it was in a superx vid. I meant to order it then but forgot all about it.
Last week I was on Amazon for something and remembered all the stuff I wanted to get. :D
So now I'm waiting on koh gen do & that polish they keep talking about- Nevr-Dull.

I've got enough organic cotton to last me several lifetimes but I'm always willing to try anything new. at least once--continually if I like it.

True.
Got fed up with trying the latest silica to hit the market, so got round to giving cotton a go and never looked back.

The beauty of vaping as I see it, is every one finds their own ideal set up, be it cig-a-like, or high end, cotton or silica or mesh or hybrid.
Way too much choice to label 1 thing as the 'ideal' material/mod/atty

Even here we have establishments that think they know what a cheese steak is. A true Philly cheese steak does not have cheese whiz put on it. I think that's disgusting.
