I can feel a dry hit coming from a mile away on my new shiny N80 wire. Kanthal had a tendency to trick me and cause me to fall over... almost dead. But then I got smart - and not the SMRT kind of smart either. But I did eventually figure out when to redrip after the first couple of harsh, scratchy, carbon tasting pulls on an RDA. It came with practice and a lot of pulling off the barrel or top cap to figure it out. As far as dry hits on a tank, I remedied that crap with temperature control. Since most of my juices will crush a plastic tank faster than a ...... off Hulk does to a VW beetle, I'm left with either glass or stainless steel tank sections. And even then on glass - you aren't 100% certain you'll not get a dry hit especially if the glass section clouds up from vapor or liquid condensation.

Still to this day - nothing tastes worse and will knock the soles right off of your feet than a dry stainless steel mesh wick.
