Coughing after ecigs?

I smoke cigarettes on and off very sparingly. I bought the ecig for my gf but I've been trying it myself and I feel phlegm and throat discomfort from using it. I actually feel the throat hit burns more than a regular cig. Any thoughts?

PS- I bought the joye 510 from awesomevapor and I'm still using what's in their stock carttridge.

I started vaping about 2 months ago, and I felt the same way especially first thing in the morning. It would ease through the day. I also kind of woke up with a sore throat from it. It was just an adjustment for me. I still cough from it sometimes, but not like I did at first. It might also have had something to do with quitting smoking. Every other time I have quit, I have gotten a sore throat and coughed alot.

Refill that cart! In fact, take out the filler material, rinse it with warm water, blot-dry it in a paper towel. Drop some liquid in the empty cart, put the filler material back in, then top off with a few drops of liquid if you need to. If that doesn't solve the problem, the nic content might be a bit high for your tastes, or just crap stock liquid. I recommend investing in several bottles of different flavor juice with different nicotine levels. It's trial and error... every PV is different, as are the juices and each individual person's preferences.

probably the cheap stock stuff. are all joye 510s delivered with the same liquid in the prefilled cartridges?

dont worry about the catriges. drop 2 drops onto the atomizer directly every 7 drags until you know what you are doing. keep it wet.

My guess is that your cart isnt wet enough...they're hard to flood...but if you feel discomfort somethin aint right!

Pay attention to taste too...the less ciggs you smoke the more you'll notice...but it'll have a "burnt marshmallow" taste

It's the tobacco cigs causing it, not the ecigs.

Get some VG-based refill liquid and/or a milder flavor. Some are much stronger than others - for example tobacco is stronger than toffee. Higher nic strength = more throat hit, so try less nic if a change of liquid doesn't fix it.

Also sip some water more often than you normally would, or try a honey/lemon type drink, especially last thing at night.

Totally different for me. I was getting a bad smokers cough with cigs. I had quit smoking for a while but still needed my inhaler. Started smoking again - cough came back. That is why I got my smokestik. Cough is gone and funny part is I don't have to use my inhaler anymore...??? YAY

I think I would have to agree with Rolygate. I was not able to vape the PG stuff, especially the prefilled some of the prefilled carts. I begin to add VG into my juice. I believe that you might do better with a PG VG base eliquid. I can't really handle a straight out PG juice. I have to get the mixed stuff or mix my own stuff. That's my two cents. Hope it helps.

i am experiencing really strong throat hit with the menthol one that I got from awesomevapor. More than I would say a real cig.

could it be an issue with the atomizer? the kit came with 2, I feel like one produces a smoother vape and less throat hit than the other, but then again I havent had time to compare them in depth. If I leave the atomizer with the cart in for an extended period of time, will it go bad? For example if the juice starts drying, it becomes more concentrated?

I had a bad sore throat the first 2 weeks. I do believe is from analog withdrawals. Prior to quitting analogs, I already saw a doctor for my throat since I had white spots. So he told me to cut down on the analogs and take vitamin A. I was at the first week of vaping when I went for my follow up. The doctor said that my throat looked great (no more spots) and was very glad that I switched to vaping.

1. Did you blow, clean or burn the primer fluid out of the atomizer? Because that stuff is super harsh and nasty. You could remove the atty, blow it into a tissue, swish and soak it in alcohol for a while (something edible like grain alcohol or vodka), then shake it out and set on paper towels to dry or dry quicker with a blow dryer. And you need to do this every week or so once you are vaping more. That's why I alternate to attys - using one while the other is cleaning and drying.

2. Stock filled cartridges are often 100% PG and harsh. Try some better ejuice. I recommend trying some that is a base of 70PG/30VG or 80PG/30VG to smooth it out a bit and will make more vapor too.

3. If you get a burny taste (and the atty is clean or primer) then the cartrdige filler is too dry or is not contacting the atty well. Add more juice.
