Thank you guys for all the awesome replies!! To those asking about PG/VG I believe the shop I buy them from uses a 70 PG/30 VG combination. How would you know if it's a PG reaction? My throat doesn't seem to be irritated now but when I began vaping, I definently felt a frog in my throat and I just kept drinking water which seemed to ease it a bit. Now that I'm at 2 1/2 weeks of vaping, that seems to have eased and doesn't really bother me as much! To the poster regarding Mucinex, that is exactly what I was looking for! Hoping someone would know of something to help the phlegm come up. I have been smoking for about 8 years and was a pad Marlb light smoker. So glad I've finally been able to quit the stinkies after hundreds of attempts! Thanks again for all the replies and putting my mind at ease! Glad to know it will pass, anything is worth being able to stop smoking!!! :) So glad I've found this forum, it's beyond awesome!!!!!

You can have a doc to a allergy test of the PG. You may also want them to see if you are allergic to Gluten. Cigs tend to depress the allergy to gluten so most smokers who are allergic never know they have the issue. Then when they quit Ta Da! and gluten is in alot of different foods and juices. Not trying to freak you out but it wouldn't hurt to check.

Probably the easiest way to determine if you're sensitive to PG is to order a sample of ejuice in 100% VG and see if the coughing goes away. Well done on your progress!

Thank you Hulamoon! Super happy to say it's actually been super easy! Haven't craved the stinkies at all! Vaping has made quitting the easiest out of ANY attempt I've made using other methods! I'll order some 100% VG to try out and see if that makes a difference at all, thank you :)

I think even the strength would have something to do with it. And flavor as well. If it has more of Throat hit in it, I guess it would be obvious to get more cough. But I am too new to say anything for sure

This is true also. I've tried about 20 juices so far and 19 were fine, but my 24mg Chinese "Red Bull" juice is just plain harsh. It doesn't make me cough, but it's not far away from it.

Yah, the local shop I buy from has only 18 mg strength unless you create a custom order so it's just what I tried at the time, I plan on decreasing my nico over time so the next few bottle I buy I might go ahead and get 16 or 12 mg, thank you for the suggestion! It's definently a learning process!! Lol.

Like GAlt said, AV Boba's is something to try, but if you are interested in other flavors check out Heathers Heavenly Vapes, Top Quality Custom E-Liquids. Their purity line is 100% VG and there are many different flavors.

Thank you!! I love hearing of places that others like to buy and I'm really interested in trying the 100% VG! Can't wait to place an order, will probably be able to do so this weekend. I'll let you guys know how it goes! Thanks again!

I had the opposite reaction. I found that I was having difficulty with too much VG. I had wheezing, phlegm and that was eliminated when I decreased the amount of VG.

Oh my goodness!! It's just a no win sometimes I guess!! The only way to know is try it out I guess :) I don't mind finding what works as long as I don't go back to analogs! Anything is better than that! Thank you for sharing your experience! I'll watch out for that when I receive my order!

I had an opposite reaction the coughing. My smokers cough was so bad on a daily basis that I was coughing all the time especially in the morning. Once I started vaping, the cough faded away in about a week. My cough was bad, I sometimes got up in the middle of the night and had to stand over the bathroom sink wheezing all the crap out of my lungs. All gone now with 3 weeks of vaping!!

Dang I smoked for 40 years 2 PAD and I haven't coughed up anything in the 3 months of my quit. On the contrary; I used to cough at night in bed and in the mornings and now I never cough and I feel great! I guess we are all different

Glad you said this because I was starting to wonder if something was wrong with me because I haven't had any coughing/hacking problems! I do find that I get a little hoarse occasionally & almost sort of lose my voice for a moment (clear my throat & all is fine), but that's about it. My hubby's smoker's cough is already greatly reduced after just a week+ of vaping exclusively. I wonder if I'm having a delayed reaction, or if the coughing up stuff is just not going to happen to me?

That being said, I think it's unreal all the junk that builds up in a smoker's lungs. My father has COPD/emphysema & while in the hosp in ICU last year (breathing tube & all - now THAT will make you wanna quit the stinkies!) they literally suctioned junk out of his lungs for four days. It was truly horrible.

I am not a long term vape person... but when I first quit I was told on this forum and I did mre research into it via web, drink lots and lots of water and lay off caffine if you take in caffine. I had a heavy chest feeling and my upper back was in pain, took the advice of people on this forum and upped my water intake, and felt sooooooo much better! Congrats on quitting!
