I've been off the dirty anablerghs for almost 3 weeks now and I have no intention of every picking one up again. I'm currently going through the lovely lung clearing phase, wherein nice big chunky bits of gunk are being brought up every now and then.

I've seen a lot of people post about how much better their breathing is since they stopped smoking and took up vaping. I'm curious to know if you guys are seeing any negative lung response from vaping at all? Would you say your lungs are as close to clear as possible or does a heavy night breathing out clouds of vapour have any noticeable effects on your breathing/coughing/phlegm?

In short, no - and of all my friends who now vape after quitting smoking, I've not seen/heard of anyone who has any breathing/lung problems.

Of course, Nicotine increases your heart rate and blood pressure - so after having a lot of it, you'll still be breathing harder on hill/stair climbs, etc. - but it won't be on account of a low lung capacity!

No, took a little wile (a month or two if I recall) to stop coughing up half a lung every morning but, now, unless I have a chest cold (also less frequent with vaping), or there is some other irritant in the air, I don't cough. Now a 100% VG juice will give me that "I drank milk right before bed" effect but, that's all, just a bit of light back of the throat congestion, nothing like stinkies did.

The hacking coughing weezing goes away. You will be able to laugh with out going in to a fit and those nasty lung jellys you cough up when you a smoker dwindle and go away. Im glad you brought that up I remember thinking every time a did that Im an idot for doing this to my self! Id forgot how demoralizing it felt.

Your body is detoxifying. That's a good thing, and something your body won't do, if it's not healthy enough to detox, because it will make you very sick otherwise. Smoking caused my detoxification suppression for most of 35 years. Most vapers call this detoxification, withdrawal or quitting symptoms. Your body needs to add some good things, and get rid of some bad things. That's how we get well. You are getting well, my friend, and it's a good thing. Welcome to the club! Congratulations on quitting! Power up and Vape On!

50 year smoker, feeling a hell of alot better, yea coughed up a shed load for a couple of months.

Have now stopped, also do not wheeze at night so the cat thinks ive stopped talking to it.

Apparently it takes a few years to mend the lungs completely, who knows the damage done over 50 years.

What a tw*t i was - when i was younger i used to think it was so cool to smoke.

Honestly, I never had any of that. I pretty much stopped coughing the second day, and I never do it anymore. I used to do this "chest clearing" thing too, just a short strong cough- and that stopped almost immediately as well. No more wheezes when I'm laying in bed at night trying to go to sleep. All chest/lung symptoms pretty much stopped instantly- and I never had the lung clearing phase either.

I consider myself lucky :)

No lung butter here and I breathe so much easier than I did when I was on the stinkies. I haven't noticed any adverse effects from vaping at all. It took me a couple of months but I finally stopped hocking up "creatures". Hang in there, it'll stop eventually.
Heh glad I'm not the only one that calls it "lung butter"

I have been hacking that garbage up even before I started vaping...no turning back now

Tired of burning a few $K a year between me and the wife on analogs
