Does anyone else cough while vaping? I am running 36 % Nicotine, and I know it's not that. My wife is using 18% and I still cough with her percentage. Any ideas?

First off your percentages sound off, do you mean 3.6% & 1.8%, in other words 36mg and 18mg?

If that assumption is right and you are still coughing at 18mg I'd say, other than the previous commenter's suggestion about a PG sensitivity, I would look at how much water you are drinking. Your throat may just be getting dry.
Other than that, if you have recently quit smoking you may still be suffering the recovery effects.

think it might be a combination of drying out your throat with the vape and maybe some dry air ? dont know the humidity in your vaping den but dry air can cause all sorts of nasty complications.

36mg is strong.
High PG ratio also makes nicotine hit throat harder.

On the reverse end, very high VG ratio thick liquids can make you cough also with a heavy chest feeling.

When you stop smoking, you also end up coughing as your lungs start to clean themselves.

If you vape at too high a power, you can also get burnt taste that causes you to cough.

36 is way to strong I started at 18 my local b&m recommended when I told them how many analog s I smoked a day..
After a month I switched to 12 and 6 if try one higher now I cough like crazy.
Now that you've kicked the bad habit try weening yourself to a lower nic

When I made the switch it made me cough for the first 4 days until my lungs got use to the vapour and then it was ok after those first days I was looking for more of a hit until I got to the point I was taking lung hits. 36mg if it is mg we are talking about is pretty strong stuff I started off on 18mg and even that was making me cough for the first 4 days or so.

I would agree with pretty much everyone else that has posted so far. Since you mentioned that your wife's 18mg juice makes you cough as well I would assume that it probably isn't the nic level (still... 36mg really is crazy high). Coughing is pretty normal when you stop smoking, also vaping will dehydrate you so drink lots of water. I remember when I made the switch I coughed a lot and routinely had a dry, scratchy throat for at least the first month (probably longer). Since I don't think anyone asked, is it a dry cough or are you bringing up phlegm? If it's dry I would lean more towards needing to drink more water or drawing too hard. If it's a productive cough then it's probably your lungs clearing out. That's just my non-medical professional guess based on my own personal experience though.

Yeah... you really do have to keep your water intake in mind. I never really had a scratchy throat when I started off vaping, and I really don't drink a lot of water, though I probably should... I didn't really cough all that much either when I started off. But apparently my cousin started coughing up a storm when he started vaping. I heard that stops after a while, especially if you drink a lot of water just in case. It's hard to tell exactly what's causing it.

That is a bit heavy on the nicotine but yet again I don't know how much of your preferred tobacco product you used to use. As others have mentioned, it could be an allergy to PG or just the throat hit from a higher PG mix. Feel free to play around with the amount of PG/VG in your juices though. I started at 70/30 and am now at 50/50. I used some of the 70/30 the other day and found it too harsh since I've been using the 50/50 mix.
