Could it be my attys?

I'm wondering if the other persons theory about the juice settling and getting mainly the pg at the bottom of the bottle could be it because i'll admit i didn't shake them up until i read that.

I just don't get it because the attys get hot and i'm still getting vapor, but a chemical like taste would sum up what i'm getting out of them, with an occasional throat hit.

Eeek! Didnt know the juice needs to be shaken up but will do so from now on. I had the same issue not being able to taste anything and had no idea that cartridges could be washed. i quickly washed the cartridges in hot water and blew them out. It has solved my problem entirely and many thanks for the detailed directions several of you left in this thread!

This is an interesting thread. I sympathize with the OP because my problems are similar.

First couple of weeks with 510 stock was great with good flavor and good vapor using juices from Rocky Mountain dripping.

Started using cheap 9-buck passthrough and was getting same decent results (until that POS broke 3 weeks later).

Ordered new juice and all of a sudden I can barely taste anything regardless of flavor..Ordered from another source, nothing...then another source, little to nothing like first 2 weeks.

What was happening is this: Drip on atty and the first drag was the best I was gonna get flavor wise for that dripping session, but little vapor. Second drag is less flavor, more vapor, 3rd would be 50-50, on until last drag would be 'nasty-time-to-redrip' flavor and PLUMES of vapor.

I have noticed one time I did an inadvertent dry (or close to dry) burn with PV im my pocket (ouch!). Vaped after cooling and I have great flavor and great cloud for duration. Didn't last that long though. I clean attys with the mouthwash on an as-needed basis in a semi rotation of 4 attys (I have a packaged never before used atty on emergency stand-by).

Now I use a 1 battery nicostick and get same incosistant results. My homeade passthrough does a bit better and brings out some of the flavor of those previous failure liquids.

My conclusions are this: Dry burns probably work to correct this for a time...it's probably guncked up liquid, but it regunks quickly.....and I'm afraid of dry burns because I think it will ruin the atty quicker so I don't do them.

I just went though a similar taste problem. I have had so few colds and sinus problems since I started vaping in June that I forgot what it was like. Two weeks ago my favor flavors started tasting like nothing. This was bad because I had just got my first mod - The Copper. My Ms. T's, Eggnog, my first My Freedom Smokes order of Eggnog and several other favorites all of a sudden tasted horrible. On a 510, 901, 801 and tThe Copper. MFS told me about shaking the bottle and even though I told them I was starting to suspect a cold they sent me a new bottle (great customer service.)

Anyway, I tried burns, replacing atties and fully charging batteries and nothing helped. Either no taste or a bland taste. But, everyone I was around commented on smelling butterscotch, chocolate, coconut, etc. Which is neat by the way after spending years being told how much I stank like cigarettes.

So, this morning all the flavor is back, I am vaping some apple pie and ice cream from Ms. T's right now. (I never thought I would like any of the flavors...) Must have been a cold because I have been coughing and sneezing and the like of and on for the last two weeks. You may be coming down with something or your system may be in the process of adjusting. I know my lungs just did a bout of cleaning out during the last couple of weeks. And this is over five months after I started. Hang in there, shake your bottles pick a method to keep your atties cleannand don't stress. The flavor will probably come back.

im going to halft to say that this could be that fact that your body has recognized the flavor and your brain doesent see it to be that noticeable. the flavor may still be going in correctally but your brain doesent precieve it correctally... i bet if you use another flavor for 2 or 3 dayz and then switch back with the same atty.... then youil have that massive sensation again.... i could be wrong... i dont have a 510.... i just have an 801
best regards
ps... i cant spell worth .... and im to lazy to use the spell check in firefox. soryz

Still waiting on my juice and new atty to come in. Hopefully it will be here by tomorrow or Saturday. I do think my problem could be a wick prob like Silence was saying. I've been looking into my attys and they just don't look right to me. I'll try to take a pic of them to post and maybe someone more experienced can say if it looks messed up. I've been going back and forth between my different juice bottles I have on hand all diff flavors still not tasting anything, but this is really wierd. I opened up some of the prefilled carts that came with my kit, haven't used them because I don't really care to vape tobacco flavors, anyway, vaping on that with my usb passthrough and I can taste the flavor in that now. I still wasn't tasting my menthol liquid with my regular batt today or my other bottled flavors so hmmmm....the plot thickens lol. I'm gonna try to see if I can get those atty pics done and get those posted up. Thanks everyone :)

Aside from doing periodic dry burns to help re-inspire the flavors in your gunked-up atomizers, the only real solution here is to switch to a new atty about every week. That's what I've finally resorted to, and all that seems to satisfy me. I've tried every cleaning and maintenance ritual that exists, and none do the trick in any worthwhile sense.
