Hello all, I just got my new Joye 510 and I think it is great, but I'm having an atty problem. When I first started using it the flavor of the vape was pretty smooth and it didn't taste bad. After about 30 puffs I started getting a funny metallic taste. I remembered I needed to blow the primer out (after the fact) so I did that, though at this point I already vaped about 30 puffs from it. I cleaned the atty with a paper towel and blew out the primer. Then I put a drop of vape juice on the atty, topped off the cartridge with a few drops of the same juice and I still get the funky metal taste. I had another atty and I tried it and after about 20 puffs, it is doing the same thing. Do I need to do an alcohol cleaning and water rinse to get rid of this nasty taste? Unsure what to do or what the problem might be. I'm using a VG juice, could that have burned in the wick?

New atty's take a while to break in. Usually about half a day from what I've experienced. If you run them too dry they'll get a burned taste to them. You could be experiencing either of those conditions. I'd just try vaping them for a while to see if it goes away. Another option would be to get some really strong flavor juice if you have some and give that a shot. It might just overpower the nasty taste.

Well, I took them and let them soak in rubbing alcohol for about 5 minutes then rinsed them real well, blew out the excess water and let them dry overnight. It seems to have taken care of the nasty metal taste. It could be the wick under the bridge went dry, also getting a strong flavored juice might be helpful, I'm using a marlboro tobacco VG juice, and the flavor isn't the best (in my opinion). But cleaning them did resolve the metal taste issue. Just have to be more careful.
Though I seem to have better luck with cartomizers, and am getting some E2 R4's in a couple days. They are LR's, so heres hoping.

Another thing I have discovered is if you overdrive your atomizer it causes the wick to have a burned metalic taste, I guess caused by the burned liquid. I try to produce as much vapor as I can with a couple of consecutive puffs with an auto batt, as opposed to a regular long single draw, like you are told to do.
There's a price to producing allot of vapor I guess.
