While I sit here and wait for my prodigy I can't help but ask myself is this going to finally be the one. I've had soo much bad luck with these ecig I don't know why I'm still with all of this. I've killed so many parts of my SE that I can't even explain. So far I think I've killed my kissbox 2x. I'm tired of fixing stuff at this point or waiting while replacement parts come in. So please tell me this one is going to work for a good long time. I've got almost $1500 into all of this stuff in just over a month. God when will the killing stop? Please tell me it's when I get my prodigy in!

other than 901 battery issues..5 out 0f 6 in 30 days lol. I have been lucky. From my experience with a Janty Stick, it appears the sealed battery eliminates 75% of the issue e-cigs have. Of course i have had ZERO problems with atomizers, but the forum is filled with that issue on every mod, penstyle etc, etc. With a respected forum member, business owner and fellow USA vaper building the Prodigy, i would have faith he will get it perfect. Even if he doesn't at the get go, you get 180 days to return it or let him "Make It Right". Remember, that atty's at launch are still Chinese made so thats the only weakness i see at this point. Check out this Prodigy case thread in the Puresmoker thread for case ideas, i found an awesome kit you might like.

Yeah I agree, atomizers are by far the greatest problem I have encountered (though 801 batteries run a close second). On second thought, getting cartridges to wick properly with an atomizer is probably the biggest problem into which I have run- and their dying of course.

My only saving grace has been my little backup janty minifogger- their atomizers have been touch and go however. Hopefully they will last me another week or so until the prodigy arrives...

In over 6 months of vaping I've only had one battery go bad, but have had at least 10 atomizers get too weak to use.

The prodigy, great as it may be, is still only a battery holder. So is the Janty stick. They both improve or possibly eliminate most battery issues.

Atomizers, and the juices that clog them up, are the real weak spot. Until we have an atomizer that can either clean itself or be cleaned, or juice that will not coat the coil in the first place, we will still be seeking the perfect PV.

Sorry, but that's just a fact of life as far as atomizer technology goes at the moment. There are mods available right now that are indeed perfectly satisfying and reliable, and that run on very inexpensive batterys, and I hope for prodigy buyers' sakes that it will be one too.

What you have to do is simply accept the truth about atomizers - they can be counted on to be good for about two weeks - and you'll instantly stop being so frustrated. What's $5 or $6 dollars every two weeks compared to even just a pack a day habit? Hardly anything, even when you add the cost of the liquid in.

been at this since April 2009 - i have 5 others in my rotation and all still work great

Just keep in mind that if you have 5 atomizers in rotation, probably none of them have been used the equivalent of 2 weeks full-time solo/heavy use duty. That would take 10 weeks at least. ;)

Yvilla,

Where do you get attys for $5? We use DSE901s from e-smokeytreats - but they are $12. So far (2 weeks for the 2 of us - heavy smokers) we have had no problems (we have 4 spares) but it sounds like problems are inevitible. Trying to get the most bang for the buck here.
Thanks,
Ron

Just watch the sales at the various vendors. A $5.99 sale for 901 atomizers is not uncommon. The E-Cig Suppliers Forum section here is a good source for sale announcements.

How much do you vape to be that lucky???

haha, not constantly, that's for sure. honestly, i don't even use 1ml a day i'd say, but i just make sure my atty is always moist, and when it gets hot, i let it rest for 10-15 mins :)

i dunno, i can't say i do anything terribly special, i really don't even drain them unless the vapor starts trailing off, then i soak in cola overnight, rinse out and dry, reprime with VG or PG (not real ejuice) and take a few puffs, then slowly break them back in with ejuice. there's a definite difference after cleaning and drying, it takes a bit of work to get them reprimed and working, and i think most people may be discouraged after cleaning and drying that they aren't automatically awesome again. takes me several hours of drip, puff, drip, puff, to get them going strong again.

Halfcent50, besides sales here in the US as mentioned by Majestic, you can easily get atomizers at $5-$6 apiece from places like ruyandirect.com, bestecig.com, and probably even eastmall. Direct from China, in other words, but those places are used very frequently by many members here, and while shipping costs vary, it can end up being little more than US shipping, and just as fast in some cases as well.

The idea is to buy at least 5, or better yet 10, 15 or 20 at a time. You can then relax and enjoy your ecig without worrying about an atomizer going wimpy or dead on you. I used to buy several cartons of cigarettes at a time to economize, and so I wouldn't have to be constantly buying, so for me buying atomizers in bulk for the same reasons is just the natural thing to do.

I go through about 4 carts a day but I change them out when I loose flavor and hit on them. I smoke continuously for about an hr and half on my way to work. I smoke another cart during the day at work. One on the way back hr and a half ride and then one when I get home usually 11mg prefilled carts. I guess that would be a heavy vapor but I still need the hit I was smoking 2 packs of black and mild cigars a day for like 5yrs.

PS Thanks for all of the replys and rubbing it in that I'm the only one who sucks at this stuff. Just kidding!

I have liquid and I also have empty carts to fill but for the life of me whether I drip in 3 drops on top of the atomizer or if I fill a cart it always seems to stink. I seem to get what I can only describe as light wispy air. I have 4 bottles of janty liquid, I have watched some videos and done reading but I just can't make it happen much like a working device..lol.
