Could someone please tell me the Pros and Cons of PG vs VG liquids?

I'm still new to vaping and I'd like to know what the differences and pros/cons are so I can make an educated decision when buying liquid.

Cons are some liquids foul wick quick.
Good to have some unflavored on hand because it vapes clean and I don't get tired of no flavor.
Some flavors taste good in moderation but not all day.
Dark flavors tend to foul wick.
VG provides lots of vapor.

VG gives you more vapor but when inhaled is lacking throat hit.
PG gives you less vapor but when inhaled more throat hit.
I like PG because it feels more like a cig inhaled but thats just me PG also irratates the throat more it seems.
To each his own.

The way you vape may limit your PG/VG choices for easy use

Normal atomizer + cart (and/or drip tip on a sealed manual battery) - any PG/VG as long as it flow and wicks at least as fast as you vape it

Tank atomizer + tanks - like 30% or less VG, may work with some 50/50 juices ok

Normal stuffing cartomizers - I think these work best with thin juices, 20% or less VG. I also avoid all juices that drop a lot of flavoring sediment (clogs carto stuffing)

Dual coil cartos - some say they can use up to 100% VG in these. But you cannot use the 1.5 ohm ones on slim batteries and some will only go that low on mods

VG tends to mute flavors slightly. Most of it has a strong flavor on it's own that I personally can't stand (rotten fruit). There are some who love the clouds of vapor it produces and don't notice that strange taste though. There are maybe two 100% VG liquids I've tried that didn't taste that way but I could still smell it.

With PG, the throat irritation went away for me. When I started vaping heavily my throat was really sore for about 3 weeks. I actually thought there was something seriously wrong with me and went to the doc (lol). Most people don't have it that bad.

I think you should try both if you can because everyone is so different. PG or PG with a little VG is usually a safe bet though. I usually do not taste rotten fruit with a PG/VG mix of 80/20 or 70/30. I almost always smell it though. =D

PG, more throat hit and flavor...less vapor...wicks well in cartos...a small number of people have a sensitivity to PG
VG, milder throat hit and flavor...more vapor...doesn't wick all that good in cartos but, drips really well
I like a blend with 80pg/20vg since I use cartos...if possible, I have a flavor shot added to my juice to make up for the flavor muting by the VG

Unflavored not bad. Kinda spicy to me. I vape that when I out of flavoring. But careful with the unflavored. Too high nic will make you sick.

Eh pure VG juices work OK in normal cartos for me as long as I'm not chain vaping and I inject it into the fluff with a syringe(it does not soak in on its own), the real problem is they kill cartos about twice as fast as thin mixes. It's worth it for a certain vendor who has a certain flavor I love, but only offers it in pure vg (I have the worst luck with atomizers and have given up on them). If I have a choice in things I get 75pg/25pg simply because it's easier on my cartos.

It may not have been the VG in the ECOpure that you disliked, but the heavy hand of ethyl maltol, which is the primary sweetener/ flavoring in ECOpure. It is a sweetener for many other e-liquid vendors as well. From Ethyl maltol - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It is a white solid with a sweet smell that can be described as caramelized sugar and cooked fruit.

That may be where your rotten fruit flavor is coming from.

Since you did say you liked another 100% VG e-liquid in another thread (can't remember which one ATM) is is possible that the ethyl maltol isn't for you. I sympathize if that's the case. Artificial sweeteners are simply a no-go for me, although ethyl maltol bothers me a whole lot less than sucralose. (That stuff is like kryptonite to me!)

The only way you'll ever really know for sure what ingredient it is that your taste buds won't play ball with is to actually order some plain, unsweetened VG and vape it. If it's still awful, then you know not to ever purchase 100% VG liquids. If it isn't objectionable, then you need to isolate which sweetener is the bad news bear.

That all makes it sound complicated. It's not, I promise. It's no different than figuring out which cigs you liked best.

One of my e-cigs is a tank style, but I recently ordered some 100% VG liquid. Should I not even bother trying to vape it in my tank? Will it ruin it? I requested for the liquid to be custom-thinned for a tank if that makes any difference.

100% VG is a thick almost flavorless no TH liquid.
Flavorings, H2O, nic, etc thin VG.
