Hello again!
I've been watching Utube videos and trying to learn as much as I can about all this! There is quite a large learning curve with these PVDs! So, my newest question involves the pros and cons of cartos vs clearomizers... I'm sure it's another of those personal choice things but I'd love to hear different peoples feelings on the pros and cons of each. I've decided I'm definitely not an atomizer person because I like to vape long and hard all day. I think I usually take 2-3 long hits at once and I'm finding that the carto/tank system I'm using gets a bit warm while vaping...I'm thinking about possibly changing to a clearomizer but would like to hear opinions on each system! Thanks in advance to all you great people who take the time to answer me!

I just recently started using cartomizers without a tank because I found out that clearomizers flood in extreme cold weather when outside. With clearomizers I would always wind up with a few that didn't work, such as not vaping or screwing onto my battery. So far I haven't had any issues with cartomizers. I'm actually getting better flavor and a buzz off of 6mg nic :) The only con I'm finding without a cartotank is you have to fill them more often.

Kath, they all leak, they all get warm, they all have their pluses, they all have their minuses. It's six of one, half dozen of the other. Perhaps the best tasting clearo out there these days is the Aspire. It is a bottom coil clearomizer. You can get them at NHaler or Kidney Puncher (among otjer places). You can get replaceable heads for them so they are convenient to use. Go ahead and explore and keep rebuildables on your radar to try one day when you are confident you can handle them.

Clearos were a god send when cartomizer QC went down the drain spring/summer of 2012. So there is nothing wrong with learning how to use clearos. IMO clearos are not as good as cartos, but they sure beat the pants off a bad carto.

So very very true and many never went back to cartos...a HUGELY dummy move coupled with the worst timing ever by the carto manufacturers IMO.

Next Bonehead move was by the clearomizer manufacturers in allowing it to be so easy to DIY/ rebuild the heads.

All atomizing systems get warm during use. I like carto tanks. Someone likes clearos, Someone else likes RBAs. Feel free to experiment. What carto and tank are you using?

Hmmm...aaaahhh...I'm not sure...I bought an iTaste vv3.0 from a vape shop while down south while visiting and they just set me up...my cartos came in a white box with their company name on it and a sticker that just said 510XL 2.0-2.4ohm single on it...something I did notice yesterday after watching a bunch of Utube videos was that the first box registered as A2.1 on the PVD while the new carto I put on is only showing 1.7! Sooo, I'm guessing I got two dif brand cartos! I've been looking at replacement cartos as the first ones seemed to do better than this box...I have burnt up and/had a few flood and I just saw that someone said something about them flooding in the cold...it's gotten really cold here in MA lately and I wonder if that's why they flooded...it doesn't make too much sense that I've had prob with both flooding and burning but I also didn't know until the videos that I needed to continually reprime them! Especially because I am definitely a heavy vaper! So I started repriming and I must say - I am back to the awesomeness that is the jVapes Minthol taste and vape!! I know many have said to buy a back up but I am not in a financial situation that will allow for that. (At least not for a while anyway...grandkids Xmas gifts come first!).

XL cartos will generally hold about 1.8 ml. 20 drops= 1 ml. Most cartos/ clearos I've tested are out (from the advertised ohms) by as much as + or - 10- 20%. For your iTaste at 1.7 ohms voltage should be around 3.7- 4.0 volts. Best ohms for your iTaste is 2.4 ohms as it gives the widest range of use voltage wise.

Yeah really, really cold up here too. So glad I did my auto antifreeze yesterday. With the cold I believe it's not only the juice that's affected but also the cold temps affecting the proper heating of the coil.
As for repriming the carto after my first week of cartomizers I added a carto tank. Because the carto filler is always saturated the cartos last much longer.
In a carto tank my cartos last:
with dark juice- 50- 60 ml
with light juice- 80- 90 ml

Not surprised the lower ohm carto (1.7 ohm) on your iTaste VV3 was harsh. This is a considered a regulated PV (uses variable voltage/wattage) and these batteries work best with higher resistance cartomizers and clearomizers (2.0 - 2.5 ohm). So remember that when purchasing cartomizer replacements or new juice attachments.

It's extremely important to properly prime a cartomizer for the very first time prior to putting it into the cartotank. How well you do this will determine how well that carto will perform for the rest of its life in the tank. I'll show you the method that I use in the following blog. This method should insure that you have the best opportunity to enjoy your cartotank:
