Nope not dumb at all. You have to walk to the library but a mail order book rental will simply post them!!

--EDIT-- ooh yea if you go to my local library the council are in there so not only can you borrow books you can also walk out with a council house too!

It's funny. But, there was another one which would give it a run for the money. I tried to find it and post a link here. Came up empty. Perhaps it is no longer online.

A number of years ago, someone posted a question about their notebook computer. I think it was posted on a MicroSoft forum. The poster, apparently serious as a heart attack, wanted to know why their notebook got heavier when they installed new programs and loaded data.
Or, maybe it was that they were convinced it was getting heavier, and wanted to know how to keep it from gaining weight. In any case, it was a hit, hehe

I believe that was originated by the comic strip "Dilbert." The "Pointy-Haired Boss" said that his laptop was heavy and Wally suggested that he delete some files to make it lighter.

Skimmed through pages and suspect it was just trolling, nothing significant.

Maybe the Dilbert strip was inspired by the actual posting. I have read the latter with my own eyes, it was real. And, got some very funny responses.

The Dilbert strip was from the early 90s. So this may be an instance of "life imitating art."
