A direct short circuit across the 510 connection of a MVP 2 will display 0.0 ohms. It does not fire
An open circuit displays non.
The ohms reading may bs off a few 10ths of an ohm.

Short circuits cause fuses to open. (such as a blown fuse) Stick a wire in an electrical outlet any you'll gets sparks. (Short circuit.)
Open circuits do nothing.

A light bulb that's burnt out is an open circuit within the light bulb itself.

I hope I've offered enough examples to clear this up.

You're welcome.

I'm not saying GN is right, ok, but I've noticed on my MVP that when I screw in a new atty, it will read maybe 0.2ohms higher or lower. I fire it, and recheck, and we're spot-on.

I have that on my SVDs as well, and had it on the Vamo I had for a brief time, though only 0.1 up or down. The resistance will change slightly when it's heated (I think). The same thing when I rewick, or disturb the coil in some other way.

The only time when I've seen the ohms jump like what GN is saying is when I've flooded the connector, but then after I fire the atty, (with the flooded connector), the ohms get spot-on. But this is a once in a blue moon type of occurrence for me.

I've had the same issue on the few occasions I didn't screw the atomizer head down tightly. If it has just enough room to wiggle ever so slightly in the base the ohm's jump around.

GN... did you make sure to screw the head down after cleaning/before filling? Please tell me you took your iClear apart and cleaned it... I don't need a long, drawn out answer, just a yes/no/I don't remember.

Goodnews,
The MVPII is a protected APV, it is not known to be a highly accurate 'ohm meter', fine for testing coils 1.5 or above.
That's odd. I've checked mine against my Fluke DMM with several heads, and it has always been ded nutz accurate. Where did you hear this?

I'm not sure if anyone has answered this question, I'm just starting to read the thread and am anticipating long-winded posts. Anywho, are you pulling the MVP off of charging when the light is green? If so, that is the problem. When the device is fully charged, the green light will go off. You say that a charge barely lasts a day with mild vaping, there is a problem. Mine, I hit that thing hardcore, and it lasts at least two days, three if I'm not chain-vaping. The device will let you know when it's fully charged.

He is saying he isn't getting very much time before the battery is dead. He's probably not letting it charge fully.

Yeah, that's most likely the problem, user error, yet again. MVPs are mass produced, and I'm sure a bad one slips through the cracks now and again, but the odds of GN getting a bad one are minuscule. If he just read the instruction manual that comes with it.......

I had the same resistance problem on my RSST. Listen to thrasher. It was because the positive leg wasn't captured properly. It was still making contact with the positive post, but was able to move around freely. Every time it moved the resistance would change. It would actually jump by two or three ohms at some points. What thrasher has tried to tell you 100 times or more, clearo coils aren't trapped solidly. It isn't a short, it's one of the legs, positive or negative, that isn't making proper contact. There is a huge difference.
