No a protank cannot handle a sub ohm atomizer. They do low resistance ones but they can give of burned hits and be unreliable.
In comparison a Nautilus mini with 1.8 ohm regular coils and around 50-80PG blends where there is more PG than VG will give really good clouds and a really smooth hit, you can even chain vape it all day long.
Yeah they cost a bit more, but I've tried all the protanks, geni tanks etc and all other non sub ohm tanks - the Nautilus hands down beats them for vapour production and - it is built like a tank.
Read some reviews and the only negative you will ever read is that they can over tighten, but that has never happened to me, and you don't need to screw it down t more than light finger resistance.
If you want to sub ohm you gotta buy a sub ohm tank. And there I would go for the Cool Fire 4 PV - as it goes up to 40W, so if you're firing at 30W, you are not maxing out the battery capacity. And for .5ohm coils, some liquids sometimes want about over 30W, so it's better to have the extra 10W range IMO. Plus sometimes you'll sit there and want a 25W hit, then a 28W hit and then say goodnight with some 32.5W hits, so you really can dial in the perfect hit.
In contrast to the Nuatilus Mini with stock 1.8 BVC coils being hands down the most popular non sub ohm tank - there is much more divided opinion reagrding sub ohm tanks.
In my experience and for the money the subtank Nano is the best for flavour and size and the .5ohm coils vape like champs all day long and last a long time and are a good starting point - unless you are a heavy vaper, then you might find the 3ml capacity not enough....
Good luck finding the right set up.
