I have read several threads about the cost of vaping or cost savings of vaping. After three full months of involvement in the vaping world, I have equipment and juice vendors of which I am comfortable. So, I decided now is the time to start counting the true cost of vaping. Note: I vape exclusively to avoid tobacco use. I am not a tech or gadget guy and I don't search for the perfect juice.

No doubt it has costed me more, waaaaaay more, but that is due to purchasing gear and sampling many juices. If I had to I could now settle down to the DIY juices I like and maybe just a few branded juices. Could easily survive with any more gear purchases for a long time but what fun is that?...lol.

Yes, it doesn't have to cost much. I'm only into it for about $500 after 3 yrs. Plenty of batteries, equipment, and Juice.

I never feel like I'm missing out on anything.

Assess your financial resources, and plan accordingly. Recoiling and rewicking the coil heads for your clearos may look insignificant, but it adds up. Besides, that way you can buy cheaper ones, and if any are defective, you have the resources to rehab them, as well. Mixing your own juices can be another savings. You don't have to get into mech mods and RBA's if you don't want to. A little bit of tech can go a long way, especially given your goals.

Lol, don't see the point of this thread, but if you're simply vaping to avoid tobacco, then good for you. If it becomes a hobby and, dare I say obsession, then you may have more fun with it hence making tobacco avoidance easier. I haven't saved a penny. In fact, I've probably spent double on goodies than I would have spent on smokes, but I enjoy this and it's not killing me slowely. Get a counter for your sig and keep track of the $$ you spend on vaping and you'll be good to go.

I've been keeping track as a motivation for giving up smoking. In the first 2 weeks I spent more than I would have on cigarettes. Last week was week 3 and although I have found a setup I like, I needed a couple of spare batteries, but I saved a very small amount. Today I've bought some spare chargers which totals 2 days of smoking, but hopefully now I have all I need to keep me going for a little while. Allowing for some small purchases, I should be "in credit" by the end of May. In August I am going to a conference and will have saved enough by then to pay for a hotel and a week of wildlife watching!

Vaping can be an expensive hobby, but for me the priority is saving money, so now I'm content with my setup it's just a case of just getting what I need to keep it going.

Vaping can be whatever you what it to be just like anything in life. To me its vaping. As long as it works, that is good. Personally working on 2k saved over smoking in 2 years. Currently costing about 5-10 bucks a month to vape sans devices. (Using 3 P2 and some knockoff mechs/apvs).

Gonna try going to the end of the year without another purchase.

I would have spend $11,400 on cigarettes over the last 38 months. Even if I've spent $5,000 or so on vaping so far, that's still a considerable savings. Plus, I could vape for a few years with what I already have.

Give me another year and a few hundred more dollars, and I'll have enough to last a lifetime. Take that, FDA!
