Hey all, I just recently ordered an ego ce4 and a sample pack from pinkspot, but I'm wondering a few things regarding the vapors..

I'm currently sucking on blu's and their cartridges only last about a day with me, I do tend to vape more often than I did analogs- I was 8-10 a day.

So anyways, the questions are- When I see something like a 30ML bottle for like $17, I have no idea how long (in days) it might last me. At $15 for a 5-pack of blu's cartridges, I've estimated that I'm spending equal to $6-pack compared to analogs, which are only $4.60 a pack here. So one of my goals is to get vaping cost as low as possible, as much as to get off analogs completely (almost there!).. I'm hoping the better vaping gear will be that turning point.

So with the DIY vapes, comparing the 30ml at $17 (or even $20 if it helps round numbers), how much would you say the cost is to do a similar 30ml bottle of DIY?

How much do you vape, and how long would that bottle last?

Thanks for helping me sort it all out.

Thanks for the reply! I also had one more question, the flavors I ordered from pinkvapors, would they need steep time, or can I assume they had been premixed? It is just a variety pack.. but never hurts to ask!

I'm been reading a lot of the DIY stuff, and that one sticky about quick and easy DIY by buying the premixed unflavored stuff cheap and then just adding flavor seems like a great way to go. The writer said he breaks down to about .20 cents a day in juice.

The most expensive ingredient, by far, is nicotine. My out-of-pocket cost to make 30ml of DIY liquid with 20mg/ml of nicotine is no more than $3.00. Approximately half of the cost is for nicotine. This takes into account everything except for my labor.

Items accounted for are unflavored nicotine liquid, vegetable glycerine, flavorings, bottle, gloves, measuring equipment and whatever postage I paid to obtain those items.

Despite the fact that nicotine is the costliest ingredient, most sellers of eliquid charge the same price regardless of the nicotine level you choose.

The average person who vapes uses 2 to 4 ml per day of juice. Although a heavy vaper might exceed 5 ml on a given day, I don't think I've heard of anyone who goes through 5 ml every day.

A great many vapers are very happy with Mt Baker Vapor for juice. Produced in the US. $11 for a 50 ml bottle, very reasonable shipping. Nicotine available from zero to super-high 36 mg/ml strength.
USA Made Nicotine Juice, E Juice, E Liquid, Electronic Cigarette Juice

Did you order flavoring for e-liquid? Or did you order e-liquid? E-liquid has flavoring already mixed into it and might need a day or three of steeping depending on when it was made, how long it took to be delivered to you, and the type of flavor. Sweet and fruit flavors tend to need little or no steeping. Tobacco flavors tend to need several days or even more.

But, if it's flavoring that you ordered, it doesn't start steeping until it's mixed with the e-liquid base. It can't steep without a partner.

I understand, these are pre-mixed. I am also placing an order for 50% pg/vg base (with nicohtene) from ecigexpress.. based on that other thread I mentioned, and understand I will need to steep that after mixing.

I guess my next question is that I would like to order my flavorings from ecigexpress with the other equipment, but don't really know the flavorings well. They offer several different brands, and I'm interested in tobacco flavors.. they offer Tobacco Express and a few others. Any general flavors from them that are generally accepted as a good quality standard? I figure I would find a couple of good tobacco bases, then apply fruity or other flavors to the tobacco.. or is that a bad idea?

Tobaccos can be tricky to work with, mainly because they transform pretty significantly through the steeping process and can interact with other flavor components, both for better and worse.

All of the flavors I mix with can be difficult to use, but there are tons of recipies that are worth trying.

Not sure if they're available at the vendor you want to use but TFA double ry4and Asian ry4 are good for getting your feet wet( not the plain ry4, it smells like dead flowers to me)

Look at ratings, where you can find them, for different flavors. Even then, all you're going to find out is the thoughts of those people who took the time to rate or do a review. I've only got 6 or 7 flavors and I've only used 2 of them so far, in combination with each other. The two flavors I've used are from The Flavor Apprentice: Black Honey Tobacco, and Menthol. I like the juice I made from those so much that I made 35 ml of it.
I'm seriously tempted to order a small bottle of Dill Pickle flavor simply because it's the weirdest flavor I've ever heard of.
Nothing is a bad idea until you've tried it and don't like it. Then, it's too late! That's why mixing new recipes in very small amounts is highly recommended!
